This was our first trip to the Myrtle Beach area and we wanted to experience some good South Carolina hospitality and cooking. Based on some prior reviews we chose Lee's as the most likely spot to get that experience. We went a couple of weeks after Labor Day and on a weekday but the place was still packed. We had a martini at the bar (very reasonable and a good pour) while we waited. The hostess seated us a short time later. Our waitress was Miranda and she was very pleasant and efficient. We chose the soft crab and sauteed shrimp dinners and shared a cup of the cream of crab soup to start. The soup was right up there with one of the best cream of crab soups I've ever had. It was loaded with flavor and plenty of crab meat. The hush puppies were tasty and staved off the hunger until our dinners arrived. You can tell when you get fresh seafood and the soft crabs and shrimp were fresh, plump and delicious. Since we scarfed on the hush puppies we didn't have room for dessert but since everything else was so good it was tempting. (Plus we had bought some killer key lime bread pudding at a local famer's market earlier that day.)

The food, service and value here were top notch.. I'm sure it helps when you go out of peak season and not in dinner prime time.

I'll be back.

Lee's has always been a place we eat while in myrtle beach. The food is great, friendly wait staff and value for your dollar.

Pluses: server was good, she-crab soup was delicious. Negatives: we had a group of 12 and almost all of us were disappointed with our dishes. Just average, nothing great.

"Newbys" that we are (only here in Myrtle Beach 2 years), we decided to go with the locals and try Lees Inlet Kitchen.....everyone just raves. Nothing outstanding is our opinion. I had the 8oz sirloin while the meat was good, lacked any really outstanding taste. Plain steak! Baked potato was good. Ranch dressing on salad, no flavor at all. Husband got "special" of blackened grouper.....alot of cajun spice, but again, nothing to write home about. Server didn't give prices of specials, and we didn't ask (dah), and spend $29.95 for a fish dish....not worth it! We came, we ate, the end.
