This was our first trip to the Myrtle Beach area and we wanted to experience some good South Carolina hospitality and cooking. Based on some prior reviews we chose Lee's as the most likely spot to get that experience. We went a couple of weeks after Labor Day and on a weekday but the place was still packed. We had a martini at the bar (very reasonable and a good pour) while we waited. The hostess seated us a short time later. Our waitress was Miranda and she was very pleasant and efficient. We chose the soft crab and sauteed shrimp dinners and shared a cup of the cream of crab soup to start. The soup was right up there with one of the best cream of crab soups I've ever had. It was loaded with flavor and plenty of crab meat. The hush puppies were tasty and staved off the hunger until our dinners arrived. You can tell when you get fresh seafood and the soft crabs and shrimp were fresh, plump and delicious. Since we scarfed on the hush puppies we didn't have room for dessert but since everything else was so good it was tempting. (Plus we had bought some killer key lime bread pudding at a local famer's market earlier that day.)
The food, service and value here were top notch.. I'm sure it helps when you go out of peak season and not in dinner prime time.
I'll be back.
