This is my husband and son's favorite restaurant on the Grand Strand. We never go to the area without a stop at River City. We just happened to go to this location this time which is wayyyyy less crowded than the one in Surfside usually is. The burger platter is too much food for me and both of my kids really (my son is 13!). Consider sharing fries if you are a light eater, but don't miss them, whatever you do! I actually like them better than the burgers. On this particular visit, the service was a little slower than normal, but it was a busy, rainy Friday night (which meant that the outdoor seating was out of service). The servers were friendly and attentive. The place is definitely a "dive" but the food prep area is clean--we sat on stools and watched them cook while waiting for a table. I have two complaints--one specific to the location and the other about River City in general. As for the location, the music was INCREDIBLY loud (gave me a headache and conversation was impossible--noticed it in another restaurant the next night--is this a trend???); I asked if they could turn it down a little, and the waitress was very accommodating. In general, I find this place to be pricey. It was $41 (using a coupon and without the tip) for the four of us to eat burgers and drink soda. This is a once-in-a-blue-moon treat for us...I just wish it cost a little less.
