“Fun place to grab a bite!”
Reviewed July 13, 2013 via mobile

My family of 6 dined at River City Cafe in Murrel's Inlet on Saturday, July 6. The hamburgers were great and they have a good kids menu.

The waitstaff was good and attentive. They offer peanuts as you enter to take to your table to hold you over until the burgers are ready.

Go early to get a good table!

“Terrible Service”
Reviewed July 9, 2013

We had the worst service at this restaurant. We waited over an hour for our food. Several of the families around us were very upset about the wait. Our server said that they have been having a lot of trouble with the staff and one of the cooks left. I can understand a restaurant having a bad night, but the manager never came out to apologize and we were not given any kind of discount. I would expect a manager to give discounts to so many unhappy customers. The food was fine. Definitely not worth the wait.

“A must stop!!!!”
Reviewed July 4, 2013 via mobile

We took our teenage boys here for dinner while we were on vacation. The atmosphere was amazing, the waitress was very prompt to greet us a get us our drinks. We ordered the world famous onion rings which definately lived up to their name. Then had a choice of many different burgers which made it difficult to choose from but we managed and Wow were they all absolutely amazing. If you are in town I would highly recommend this place you won't regret it.

“I was left wanting more....”
Reviewed July 2, 2013

I hate to say it, but we were all dissapointed with our meals. The bright spot was the boneless Jamacian seasoned wings. They were full of flavor and tender. Our crab cakes ( one platter fried, one platter broiled) were below average. Fried okra was soggy,
and the entire meal was just dissapointing. Server was ok. It was a cool rainy day, and the ceiling fans were on turbo. We were all cold. Will pick another place next trip over to Murrells Inlet.

“Food was great.....server was not.”
Reviewed June 30, 2013

My family of 6 dined at River City Cafe in Murrel's Inlet on Friday, June 28th. When we arrived the manager noticed my son's TN shirt and told us that he is from Tennessee originally. He chatted quite a bit and then offered to take a group pic of us which we really appreciated. We were seated within a few minutes and were excited to place our order as we were all really hungry. Our server was rather slow to acknowledtge us and when she did she had a very "couldn't care less" attitude. We asked for peanuts and she never brought them until we asked a second time. Once we placed our order we waited for a while and were pretty certain she told the people two tables back from us that she had forgotten to place our order. After another few minutes our food arrived and it was fantastic. We all ordered something different and all agreed that our food was great! Our server came back to fill our drinks and actually spilled the water in our daughter's boyfriend's plate. She acted like it was not a big deal but I was appalled that she was so flippant about the whole thing. He mopped it up with a paper towel and continued to eat but I felt that was ridiculous. Maybe she was having a bad night, but it didn't take away from the great food! We will go back!
