“Alligators”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

Great place to see alligators in the wild, but not much else. The beach isn't any better then Myrtle Beach but the wildlife is cool. Got some great pics of alligators and a huge spider, I will try to post pics when I can.

“star fish”
Reviewed August 23, 2013

Kids found several star fish near the shore. All were alive so we left them in the water. Nice clean beach. Picked up several shells. There are faucets and showers to rinse off after spending time on the beach.

“Day at the beach”
Reviewed August 22, 2013

Love this place this history is very neat. The beaches are clean and family ordinated. Got to watch a church did baptisms in the ocean. A lot of people got saved. It was awesome. The only thing I that I didn't like is that the park took away most of the grills the only ones are the ones at the shelters. Which if the shelter is rented you can't use the grill's. would like to see the grills put back. Families on a budget used them a lot. Other than the grills is a very nice beach.

“Amazing Bird Observation Points and Learning Centre”
Reviewed August 22, 2013

Most of our day involved bird watching. Though we were not early morning arrivals to the park, we saw a number of species that we would never see at home. Guess we were pretty easy to satisfy given that we live in Canada. After entering the park, you drive across a causeway that divides the waters into two large ponds, one fresh water and the other a brackish pond. This provided two different habitats that were easily visible with binoculars or a long camera lens. There was also a great hands-on learning centre for people of all ages. The beach was gorgeous. Visiting the Huntington's home was very interesting. You must spend some time talking with the very knowledgeable volunteers who work there. The Huntington's were not the stereotypical "rich" people from the 1920s and 30s.

“The campsite is very well maintained, very clean, only 1/8 mile walking distance to the ocean”
Reviewed August 19, 2013

My husband loves outdoors and my daughter and I took him camping for his birthday. This place is always full so reservations in advance are a most. The fee for camping with a tent is very affordable ~$35/night. The site has water, electricity and a general bathroom near by. The campsite is very well maintained, very clean. Our site was almost across the pathway to the beach which was very convenient, only 1/8 mile to the ocean. On your way there you can walk and see nature at its best. We will definitely go there again. The beach is not crowded and the site has plenty of other places within walking distance such as the Atalaya, the marsh where you can spot alligators and take beautiful pictures, and several paths to run or use a bike.
