“Amazing experience every time”
Reviewed May 23, 2013

We've been several times and have never been disappointed. The night of the 1,000 candles is our favorite. Wonderful entertainment, knowledgeable, friendly staff & volunteers, decent zoo if you go with children and the statues are something to see and read about.

“Loved it!”
Reviewed May 23, 2013

It's only few miles from ultra-touristy Myrtle Beach, but Brookgreen Gardens feels worlds away!
Everyone in our group (ages 3, 5, 5, 15, 30's and 40's) loved our visit. The sculptures are beautiful, grounds are gorgeous and well-maintained, and the wildlife was well taken care-of.
We arrived at opening time (9:30AM) and left at 2:30PM, and could have kept ourselves busy for several more hours.
The kids loved the Storybook Land play area and the Kids Discovery Center. They also loved their "Detective Book" that they received at the Welcome Center. When they completed it, they received a sticker and a prize to take home.
We didn't take the boat ride or go in the butterfly house, but those are on our list for our next visit! We did the Mother Nature's Cafe tour where you watched the animals being fed, and enjoyed that.
This place is very affordable, especially when you consider that your pass gets you admission for 7 days.
We at lunch at the Pavilion, and enjoyed it. There are lots of healthy options on the menu, and service was great!
We will definitely return on our next trip!

“BEAUTIFUL!”

This is a MUST visit! We first visited Bookgreen Gardens in 1966 and have been returning every year. It gets better each visit. Plan to stay the day.....lunch, boat, wander, relax. It is the BEST!

“Beautiful grounds and sculpture STAY AWAY from the trekker tour”
Reviewed May 21, 2013

The park is a gem, awesome isn't doing it justice. The history and art were worth the trip.We enjoyed it so much we decided to do the trekker tour of the "plantations" it was a joke. You are taken on a bone breaking ride through "ruins of where the plantations and "used to be" so basically they point to a spot in the woods and say the main house was over there this goes on for 50 minutes.Pass on the trekker tour and enjoy the grounds more( and save the 7 bucks a head). The sculpture tour was very informative and worth the time.Do that first! Check for a groupon!before you go(2 for 1)
