Visited Brookgreen Gardens last week. Beautiful Gardens, Informative tours, Excellent Wild West Exhibit. Even the restaurant deserves high marks for its excellent food. Buy your ticket early in the week. It's good for six days.

Well worth it! We did not get half of the area covered and the ticket is good for 7 days!

Trees? Yes! Flowers? No! Just a bit of green and some sculpture at the beach.

The centuries-old Live Oak trees are lovely but the horticulture staff and volunteers planted literally thousands of summer annuals this year that are blooming and quite lovely. The sculpture garden has more than ten garden 'rooms' perhaps you missed some of the ones with more colorful displays. Your admission is good for a full seven days and we hope you will have a chance to return and see more.

I was in town for a conference and made a side trip to Brookgreen Gardens. It's absolutely beautiful! And the little restaurant on site was very good too! If I could do anything differently the only thing I would change is time of year, I was there in August 2010 and it was quite warm ... but still beautiful and worth the sweat! Would like to go back in a cooler month and stay longer!

Thank you for visiting and for the excellent review of the gardens. It can get hot here in the summer time and so we are open late until 9 p.m. (when its cooler) on Wed. Thu. & Fri. evenings through August 10. There are free concerts and special kids activities then, too.

We live in the area and go here as often as we can. Whether you have a membership,or are visiting during vacation, you will feel like you are in sculpture heaven. The gardens are beautiful all year long, the sculptures are magnificent, and the outdoor atmosphere is truly breathtaking. And you will be amazed to walk down the 'Live Oak' pathway where the trees are over 100 years old. Don't forget your cameras!!!You can walk in any direction and sometimes feel like you are the only people there, even tough you parked in a full parking lot. Try taking the river tour. The guides know so very much about the history of the area and point out all the wildlife while on the tour. You'll see alligators, beautiful birds, and hear about the agriculture history of South Carolina. If you are visiting, Brookgreen is located across from the state park on Rt 17.
