There were so many delicious things on the menu, it was hard to decide. I had the Lowcountry Shrimp & Grits & was thoroughly satisfied. Come early! This place was packed by 10am.

When we were in Mt. Pleasant for a summer wedding, we woke up Sunday morning hungry for a good breakfast before our drive home. After search TA and finding Charleston's Cafe, we decided to give it a try. Reluctant of finding a long wait time, we went anyway. We got lucky and only waited 10 minutes since we were a table of two. They have hot coffee and ice water available while you wait.

The menu combines Southern food with gourmet cuisine. The huevos rellenos was crispy and oozing with creamy Monterey Jack cheese. It was served in a tortilla bowl filled with two medium fried eggs, salsa, and sour cream and a bowl of grits on the side. The textures and flavors was amazing. There was so much food I couldn't finish it all.

My husband had Andrew's Choice (I think was the name) which was a sausage patty dipped in pancake batter and fried. It was served on a bed of two fried eggs along with homemade potato "chippers". He's not usually daring to try new things but he was so excited, he cleaned his plate clean! He said the spicy sausage with the maple syrup on the pancakes complimented each other.

I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Mt. Pleasant. The Cafe' is in an older strip center off of Johnnie Dodds Blvd and is a little hard to find if you're not looking for it. The staff is very friendly and our waitress was excellent. We're ready for another road trip just to eat at the Charleston Cafe'.

Breakfast here is such a treat. So many different options. They have the most creative breakfasts that I haven't given there lunches a chance. The place is comfortable but not overly done up. The Amber by the way starts with a Crab cake, topped with an egg and hollandaise and sprinkled with sausage and shrimp. It's awesome. My wife changes out the sausage for a fried green tomatoes. We get down here once a year and look forward to each year.

We visited this little cafe twice on our 4 day mini vacation to the Charleston area. Simply the best breakfast with fresh local food. The Chef's Special was a grit cake with blackened shrimp, poached eggs, andouille sausage gravy, asiago cheese, and green onions and it was incredibly amazing! Crawfish seafood omelet with goat cheese was incredibly good. Caper Island potato casserole chock full of seafood with a crab sauce - so yummy. Benedict with the best fried green tomato was superb. The special 4th of July French Toast (Bread Pudding) with fresh berries was festive and tasty. Salmon Hash Special was excellent as well. This cafe could easily be overlooked due to its location in a shopping center, but there was crowd in the parking lot waiting for an incredible breakfast. They were prepared for the holiday crowd and had complimentary fresh coffee and water available while we waited for our table. Will definitely return on our next visit to Charleston.

Went for breakfast and had the chefs' special (a stack of 2 eggs, crab cake, andouille sausage gravy, grits, cheese and with blackened shrimp - are you kidding? Fantastic), and banana pecan pancakes with caramel sauce. Coffee tasted fresh ground, flavorful.
The menu has something for everyone with some creative selections. Very friendly staff. Nice artwork around the restaurant.
Get there early. As we were leaving it was packing out.
