Nice seafaring/nautical atmosphere. We went for lunch and ordered quinoa salad which was not cooked right. We wil try it one more time for dinner to see if the dinner menu is better.

“Great View”
Reviewed October 13, 2013

I really think this place needs a little more time to develop their menu because there are great possibilities here. Although probably a seasonal type restaurant, they seemed slightly understaffed but were very friendly and accommodating. To me, the food is typical fried seafood aimed at tourists who don't know the difference. Not bad, not special. However, because of the view and I believe first impressions can be flawed, I'll go back given the opportunity.

“What a view, food average”
Reviewed October 12, 2013

The view is of the USS Yorktown and over to Charleston which is stunning. We ate outside in the screened in area which I would recommend. The food was average...hushpuppies, boiled shrimp, crab dip and crab soup but the view more than makes up for it. The inside seating is also great and the bar area upstairs I think has especially good views as it is open air. A good stop to fill up and soak in the scenery.

“Loved everything about it!”
Reviewed October 12, 2013

Delicious meal (7 adults all loved their entrees)! Love love love the atmosphere, decor, views. Wait staff very friendly but seemed to have too many tables per server so not able to be very attentive tho I felt they tried. Only thing not 5 stars was the caviar martini my friend ordered...we don't recommend it unless you like drinking fish water! Otherwise it was my hands down favorite restaurant in the week we spent in Charleston.

“View = AAA Food = C+”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

The Fish House is owned by the Charleston Harbor Resort which is just a few steps away across a parking lot. FH is a huge, huge restaurant with multiple inside levels as well as a huge outdoor deck.

We ate there two nights since we were sort of a captive audience having arrived by boat. The food was average to good with service erratic our first night. Prices were a bit high. Menu was extensive.

The real reason to eat at the Fish House is for the view. There's not a bad seat in the house with the entire north side of the building...both levels...having huge floor to ceiling windows. These windows allow guests to have unobstructed views of a decommissioned submarine and other U.S. Navy ships, including the 50s-era U.S.S. Yorktown and the Ravenel Bridge that connects Charleston and Mount Pleasant. These views are especially wonderful at night since both the aircraft carrier and the bridge are lighted.

These views are worth at least one visit even if better food and service are readily available elsewhere in the Charleston Area (See my recent review of Magnolia's.).
