“A nice place for a stroll or fishing”
Review of Pitt Street Bridge

The old Pitt St Bridge used to connect Isle of Palms with Mt. Pleasant. It is a nice place for a quiet walk to the end or for fishing. There are nice views of downtown and the harbor from there as well. The real downside is the bugs! Being on the marsh, the mosquitoes and sand gnats will eat you alive. So, make sure you bring bug spray!

A slow walk to the end and back will take about 45 minutes.

This is a great walk about a mile total, out and back. There are plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the breeze and sunset. Usually pleasantly busy.

If you want to relax, feel the seabreeze and watch nature and boats, ships coming and going in Charleston Harbor...this is the place to go. Second only to the flightdeck of the USS Yorktown at Patriots Point for watching the sun set on Charleston in the summer! Great photo ops!

On our last trip we visited this park twice. It really offers stunning views of the marsh lands, Charleston harbour and Sullivan's Island. A lot of birds to watch and a nice clean trail to walk on. Lots of people fishing, crabbing and enjoying the views. If you are in the area, stop by. It use to be a bridge that carried trolleys and later cars to Sullivan's Island.
If you have time, stop at the Pitt Street Pharmacy and have a soda in a old fashioned pharmacy/soda bar! It is an lovely upper scale area that was a real find for us.
