“Almost drove on because outside is deceiving”
Reviewed April 25, 2011

Cloth napkins, candlelight, and "Sinatra" and others singing in the background were nice touches.

Very nice staff was attentive.Steak was excellent. Also Scallops were cooked right. Food tastes and presentation fit the "bistro" style.

If you are vacationing and have transportation this would beat the beach area waits for a table.

Wine was half price by the bottle if an entre is ordered. In our case, a $23 bottle of Washington state "cab" for $11.50 was a very good deal.

“My new favorite - great food (the food comes first!), great wine deals, charming staff and plenty of parking!”
Reviewed April 17, 2010

A few weeks ago I read the local restaurant critic's piece about this restaurant and I'm glad I did. The same things she didn't like - I love! I don't want my dishes simplified. I can do that at home. I love the complexity at Bistro 536. Interesting foods are brought together and it works - and the sauces (underneath or drizzled across the top) are delightful. This chef knows his stuff and presents it beautifully. In his Traditional Bouillabaisse - each type of seafood retains its own fresh flavor. The Grouper entree is a delight and the Portabella Mushroom appetizer is rich, flavorful and generous. The wine special - half price bottles Wednesday + Saturday 5-8PM make it a real deal! This new restaurant will get crowded as others discover it. Join me there now. You'll be glad you did! An unpaid restaurant critic

“fantastic addition to mt pleasant”
Reviewed January 1, 2010

Stopped by the other day to grab lunch because I heard about it from someone at work. Their recommendation was spot-on, because this place was excellent. My friend and i both got sandwiches, and they were both delicious. The presentation was also good, you could see the chef took care in making our food. The staff was friendly and attentive, and seemed genuinely eager to serve a good meal. I got a chance to look at the dinner menu, and it looked tasty as well, so I can't wait to check it out. I'm very happy this place opened up.
