I stayed here for one night on a golf outing based on other reviews, I must have gooten a room that had never been reviewed. The room was old and dated and somewhat clean. There were some left over hairs in hte bathroom but we were charged for them. The drain on the shower was very slow so you ended up anklle deep in your own water and who knows what else floated up. The best part of the hotel was the staff. They were very friendly and knew a lot about the area. I am not sure I would stay here again.

Never stayed here before but wanted something close to the Isle of Palms. I had not a single problem with this place. I was traveling alone and felt very safe. The room was clean and comfortable and loved the big, fluffy pillows. I slept very well. The bathroom was spotless. I had read earlier reviews about too much hot water and not enough cold so I kept that in mind as I started the shower and was able to adjust it to the right temperature. Thankful for the hot water!!! Didn't use the safe -evidently there is a charge for that but I didn't need it anyway. Didn't use the microwave but would have if I had been there longer. Did use the fridge to keep a couple of drinks cold. Thank you for the appliances. There was no problem with noise. I was concerned there might be due to the pool being in the middle of the courtyard with the motel surrounding it. Good night's rest and was up and ready for a fun day on the beach. Also appreciated the later check-out time. I will definitely return. Thanks Days Inn!

My husband and I just returned from staying at the Days Inn at Patriot's Point. Were there for four nights to enjoy Charleston, the beaches and the Mt. Pleasant area. We had the most relaxing time at this motel and I will give it two thumbs up as far as returning there to stay.

We read all the reviews both good and bad for the last few months and it was worrysome but were just looking for a comfy place to shower, sleep and relax on our vacation. We didn't expect a 4-star grand hotel so our expectations were average. Upon arrival, the road construction did make it frustrating to get into the parking lot but that wasn't the motel's fault. Check in was quick and easy and the front desk clerk was very helpful and friendly and even made sure we had the room we had requested. We staying in room 703 facing the bridge. We couldn't see the bridge for the trees but that was fine. The motel didn't seem to be full and we may have been the only guests on that floor.

Yes, the outside was a little run down but after all this is an older motel but it was fine for our needs. We parked and went up the elevator to our room. It was a non-smoking double bed room. Roomy enough for our needs. There was no bad smell but we did bring air freshener. There was a small fridge, alarm clock, microwave and coffee pot. There was a pack of regular and decaf each with cups and sugar/creamer packs. There was a good size color tv on the dresser area with plenty of channels. They had soap and shampoo available but we had taken our own. There was an iron/ironing board and hair dryer and also a small safe that you paid a small daily fee for. There was a small desk and chair and also two other chairs. There were plenty of towels and washcloths but it plainly states on a couple of cards in the room that they will ONLY replace the towels, washcloths and linens that you use. You are to put the card on your pillow on the bed for them to change the linens and you simply could leave your towels on the floors. Only came back one evening when they hadn't replaced the towels so we just went to the lobby for more. The next morning I left a note for housekeeping about it and we never had another problem. The beds were comfy enough and the linens and bedspreads were clean. The wi-fi worked but was a little slow. The shower/tub was clean and had great pressure. It looked to be a new shower curtain hanging.

We saw NO BUGS but as I said we were on the 3rd floor. There was someone from an exterminator there one day but I think they come there on a regular basis. The a/c worked great and kept us cool and comfortable after coming back following a hot day. It stormed only one day and some areas of downtown Charleston flooded but not too badly. We used the pool only once but it was nice and they couldn't help leaves and things in the pool following the storm the previous day. We never had excessive outside noise and we slept well.

We visited the connected Huddle House one afternoon for lunch. It was a typical "Waffle House" atmosphere but it was clean, the food was good and the employees were very nice and efficient. Nice touch to have a 10% discount there.

Check out went smoothly and everyone was very friendly and helpful. We asked for a wake up call every morning and we got it. There are plenty of maps and brochures in the lobby. The Mt. Pleasant Waterfront Park/Pier and Visitors Center is not to far. It is definitely a must-see.

I hope this review has been helpful to those who may be thinking about staying at the Day Inn at Patriot's Point. As long as you aren't looking to stay at a resort or four/five star hotel expecting room service, a spa, exercise room you will be fine. We do plan on returning in the future.

Room Tip: We had AAA and the motel does offer a discount on rooms. The pool/courtyard area would be good to h...

This hotel is well located with a nice pool and clean rooms. It seems safe and is an ok price, its defiantly two star but that’s fine if that's all you expect.

This would be a good hotel if it were not for the way it is managed. We only got 3 hours sleep when we stayed because a large group of young people insisted on having a room party until 6am. They kept the whole hotel up, and after numerous complaints the management did nothing about it.

When we complained the next morning we were told that because we had not telephoned the desk in the night, our complaint was not valid and thus nothing could be done. A rude response, that had of been handled better could of salvaged our stay.

Two other points, the hotel has the thinnest walls/glass. If noise is made anywhere in the open air hotel courtyard you will hear it, many families were kept up during our stay. Secondly breakfast is offered for a charge with a comical 10% discount on an onsite huddle house, pretty poor.

Stay in the best western across the road.

When we travel, we plan to spend a lot of our time out exploring the place where we are visiting. When we decided to visit Charleston and Isle of Palms we were honestly looking for a cheap room. While we don't want to pay a partial mortgage payment for a room we'll only be in for a night or two, we do have certain expectations for a room (clean, nice bathroom, comfortable bed, etc.). We were kind of skeptical when we booked knowing that all of the rooms opened to the outside (thought of every horror movie we've ever seen). The front desk staff was very friendly upon arrival. We were given room 121 and were VERY pleased. You could tell that it was an older motel, but lots of improvements have been done to make it nice. We never seemed unsafe and LOVED the area. We were right across the bridge from the Charleston peninsula and close to Sullivan's Island and The Isle of Palms. There were many restaurants nearby, along with shopping (Wal Mart and Target), and grocery stores. If you are high maintenance (whether you claim to be or not) this is definitely not a luxurious resort...but if you are looking for a room away from home, this is a good choice. Honestly, it was kind of nice parking right outside the door of our room and not having to carry everything through a lobby and be judged by that awkward lobby audience (this coming from someone who travels with a box fan). Would be fine to stay here again.

$115 for one night. Tub was nasty, barley wanted shower curtain to touch me. Had to put a towel in the tub to stand on because there was no grip mat, thus making it very slippery to take shower. Plus the cold water was almost a drizzle making it very hard to get temperature of hot water safe enough to get under, therefore had to have it running at a low spray. Bed covers had unwashed smell, and I felt something bitting me everytime I sat or got in the bed. The carpet felt damp which is why I kept smelling a musky ordor. I tried this hotel because I was trying to save $ by getting a little further out of Charleston. Bottem line, I will spend the extra $10 or $15 next time and stay where I normally would have in Charleston. This was not worth the $10-15.00 I saved. This hotel is now off my list. Would not go back even if it was a $50 per night charge.

Room Tip: Stay at Sleep Inn on Savannah Highway in Charleston!!

A great bargain in a great location. The price is reasonable and the location is great. Right near the bridge for easy downtown access and just a few minutes from the beach. This motel (not hotel) is a great bargain for a trip to Charleston. Will stay here again.
