My family and I booked 2 rooms for five nights at this hotel over Easter. The hotel is in a very convenient location, with plenty of grocery stores and restaurants near by. There is a movie theater within walking distance. The hotel is located within a complex of several hotels, but situated nicely with a beautiful back patio just outside the breakfast area and included a pond filled with turtles and other wildlife. The pool, which is seasonal and apparently does not open until May is located in this area as well.
We booked 2 rooms which were both 2 bedroom, 2 full bath with a kitchen. Each room had a total of 3 Televisions. Very spacious and perfect for large families.
The beds were comfortable and it was especially nice to have an actual bedroom.
While I have no major complaints about the overall cleanliness of the hotel, we did have to give a thourough cleaning to the bathrooms. Toilets looked as though they had not been scrubbed in quite some time and the bathtubs were also dirty. I would love to be able to say that this was isolated to one room, but it wasn't. The front desk did explain the "limited housekeeping" upon check in and we knew not to expect much, but we did not have ANY housekeeping services until the day before we checked out and I had to request that. There was a lady with a cart of clean towels that came by one day, but it was not that inconvenient to stop by the front desk on our way back to the room each night to grab a stack of towels, which the staff was very generous with. On another housekeeping note, there were the same popcorn pieces littering the 2nd floor hall for at least 3 days, not ten feet from the elevator.
Breakfast was a little disappointing, but sufficient. Mostly pasteries, cereal, boiled eggs, yogurt and oatmeal packets. There was fruit one day, but not everyday. We had been told about hot breakfast items, but they never appeared. The managers reception that this hotel offers did not happen during our stay either. We were told that because of the bridge run happening the following weekend, the schedule had changed, unfortunately, for those of us staying that week.
My other complaint would be about parking. There are not nearly enough spaces and although there is an "overflow" lot across the street, we found that to be nearly full and completely full during our stay. I will say though, that on the night that there were absolutely no parking spots available, the gracious front desk clerk gave up his premium spot for me to park in, so that I did not risk being towed for parking in another hotel lot. The front desk staff were always friendly, courteous and helpful even though the hotel was close to full with families and a girls softball team.
Overall, we had an enjoyable visit and would stay at this hotel again and recommend it to others for future trips. Hopefully the hotel manager will address the housekeeping issues mentioned.
