“Great value and experience!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2013 via mobile

Can't believe this place is only $10! So much to see and do for that price. My favorite was obviously the swamp ride; we did the self tour and it was a lot of fun! Would definitely recommend even though its a little ways from downtown charleston.

“Super cool nature center!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2013

Cypress Gardens has tons to offer for everyone! First I must say they do an excellent job maintaining the grounds. My favorite thing to do here is the self serve paddle boat ride. Just follow the arrows for a super neat gator filled swampy adventure. Make sure to be there by 4 at the absolute latest. I think they close at 6 but you need to be on the boat by 4. The second best part of the center is the butterfly room. Here you can find lots of butterflies, a bee colony exhibit, tiny tiny pheasant type birds and a duck! Not to overlook all the beautiful flowers that the butterflies are attracted to. Stop by the reptile room to see an impressive display of snakes, turtles, and several fish variaties. The ladies in the gift shop are totally fun and helpful and the prices are unbelievable! Great all around place to visit! Only $10 per person and $9 if you have AAA.

“Wonderful time for the whole family”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 17, 2013

We had an amazing time. My 6 year old loved it. It was a very cloudy day and to cold for the biting bugs, so that helped. We went to row a boat through the swamp first and LOVED it. We saw 3 alligators. The boats are free if you row yourself. We wouldn't have had it any other way. It was perfect. Then the rest of the park, just lovely and very interesting and almost as fun as the ride through the swamp. It was a great day and we loved every minute. The cost is 10 for adults and 5 for children 5-12yrs, under 5 free. Worth every penny. Plan on spending a minimum of 3 hours, you spend all day without even knowing it. We will be going back many times. (We just moved to South Carolina.)

“Best day of our vacation so far!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 9, 2013

My husband and I went to Cypress Gardens with our children who are 5 and 7 as well as my parents. We packed lunches which I highly recommend and we started with the guided boat ride. The guided boat tour was excellent for 2 reasons: the first is that someone else was doing the rowing so we were able to really enjoy the beautiful scenery and the second reason is that our tour guide was showing us area where movies had been filmed, huge nests in trees that we definitely would have missed and she narrated the trip with history of the gardens and the original owning family. We at our packed lunch at picnic tables and then went through the nature path. I would only do this if you have lots and lots of bug spray applied since it was a hike in the woods. Next we continued on the main path which goes around the cypress trees that are in the water. It is perfect for taking pictures of the trees, flowers in bloom, lily pads and anything else that might catch your eye. The main trail is about 1 mile. We took another path off the main trail to see the Kittredge gravesite and it eventually linked up with the main trail. This trail was just over 0.5 miles. After walking, we went to the areas behind the main building. We saw many different species of snakes, fish and turtles in the swamparium. There was and area with 2 large alligators. We also went to the butterfly house. It was the perfect day at the perfect place!

“Lots to see”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 8, 2013

Cypress Gardens is very pretty, several things to see. Butterfly house is good, a nice exhibit of local animals. Don't miss the boat ride in the swamp. You can paddle it yourself or have a guide take you out.
Spring is probably the best time because of the beautiful azaleas blooming, but anytime is good. Just remember we have mosquitoes in the summer, so bring your bug spray!
