“Quite nice”
Reviewed March 19, 2013

Very nice park. It's out of the way a little bit, so not very busy, and really none of the usual unpleasantness..........no graffitti, loud rap music, etc.

Be sure to go on a good weather day; the park is best enjoyed by walking the trails, and 95f/100000% humidity will definately reduce your fun.

“Neat little place that is a little out of the way from Charleston”
Reviewed December 5, 2012

This is up in Moncks Corner, so it is more for locals and day trippers than people from way off. It is right on the Tailrace Canal, which dumps water from Lake Moultrie into the Cooper River system. The old canal is interesting because of how small it is. There is an old house there and a museum as well. Normally, I like to go just to walk through the woods and enjoy nature. Be aware, if it is wet or has just rained, much of the hiking trails turn boggy.

“A Gem in Moncks Corners, S. Carolina”
Reviewed May 10, 2012

What a lovely spot!! My first visit and was dodging a front of S.C. thunderstorms but the weather held long enough so had an opportunity to do some of the trails along the Cooper River and visit some of the stopping points along the way. The museum & interpretive center are so wonderful and give you such a sense of the building of the canal & S. Carolina history. Cannot wait to go back as on a good day want to do more hiking and take out a canoe to investigate Biggin Creek. Do bring your camera as there are some great photo opportunities.
