One of the best things you can do when you are in a “touristy” spot that has restaurants packed (even the ones that are not very good) is to ask a local where to eat. We asked a local, and he directed us to this spot is located “way out in the country, “ by Grand Strand standards, just about a half mile off Route 22 on Route 90 in Longs.

The restaurant is a quiet place that serves good food prepared to your order. The food can be steaks, Italian, American, and even pizza made in a real brick oven. The staff was friendly and well-prepared, there were daily specials, and reservations are accepted but not required. This food was good! The tables are covered with real tablecloths and there is a full bar and wine selection. We didn’t have alcohol and the tab was under 40 dollars for a full dinner for two including salads with a really good balsamic vinaigrette (you can choose your dressing – you don’t have to take the vinaigrette), and generously-portioned tasty entrees. There is also outside seating available.

We would pick this place for more than one dinner while at the Grand Strand simply for the quality of the food and the relaxed atmosphere.

Just wrapped up a week long vacation in North Myrtle Beach. Fabulous weather, hotel, tons of restaurants to choose from. Had a few big misses for restaurant choices, feeling a little discouraged. But then along came Bistro 90. Excellent service, meticulously clean, and the food was delicious. Thank God because hey we were starving! :) Recommend the steak tips for an appetizer, and ya don't split this one, its really good. Stuffed shells, delish.

We have been coming to Myrtle Beach for many years, and we tend to like the hidden gems and locals favorites for our dining choices. How we have never heard of Bistro 90 before is amazing to me. This is a very special place. The atmosphere is very nice, the menu choices are really good and the food is delicious. We love sitting at the cozy bar for our dinner, and Lars was charming and had great suggestions for our meal. We also loved the awesome homemade bread pudding and ice cream. This is our new favorite place! Can't wait to come back again!

Let me start by saying we visited Bistro 90 awhile back and it was AMAZING. Not so this time. It started with an over solicitous waiter who described every item as "His favorite" , "The best", "Award Winning" etc. it was almost comical. We started with fried calamari...perfect. Sweet, tender and cooked perfectly. Next came the house dressing salads. This was a plate of iceberg lettuce, two cucumber slices, and one cherry tomato. The only taste everyone at our table detected was oregano. The dressing tasted of nothing but oregano. Strike two. The main meal consisted of many different items. The shrimp scampi over pasta was swimming in a scampi broth almost like a soup not gently coating the pasta.. It was unlike any scampi I am familiar with and left my husband scratching his head. It was more of a soup than a scampi in our opinion. The lamb came out with the sauce on the side; no one ordered it on the side and every bite had to be dipped in the the sauce for $30.00 (4 tiny loin chops). We ordered 2 Banana Foster Cheesecakes for dessert but only received one because the waiter said "they were very large and one would be enough"????? I have to say after our first stellar visit a year or so ago this was a very different experience.
