As we exited our car, Michael our host appeared to help carry our luggage into the B&B and up the stairs to the Blue room. The room furnishings were very attractive and the bathroom fixtures were modern and elegant.. The queen bed rates a a 10 on a scale of 10. Several trains meandered through during the night, but were not obtrusive. The whistles blown at nearby road crossings were muted and a reminder of days gone by. We had a glass of Champagne in an upstairs sitting area then went down to dinner by the fire in the dining room. The entree was a pair of crab cakes which were all crab sauteed in butter. The wine selection was well done and reasonably priced. Table service was by Michael and a lovely young waitress both of whom were most informative and obliging for our group of 6 septugenarians traveling together en route for New Years in Pawleys Island, SC., This is a 5 star establishment. We will return next year.

My wife and I spent only one nght at Abington Manor...but wish our stay could have been longer. Great room (the Red Room), great dinner and great service from Vicki, the Assistant Innkeeper(the Proprieters, Michael & Patty, were away). Also convenient to I-95. We'll be back!

We always stay at select registry properties because they have to meet a certain criteria, but even within SR there are good and bad properties. Abingdon Manor shot to the top of our list as our favorite "we cannot wait to return to" B&B! It is beautifully appointed, Michael and Patty are wonderful innkeepers and Patty is an excellent chef. We were driving from Northern VA to southern Georgia so it was a perfect half way stop. We had dinner at the Inn, which was delicious and meant that we parked our car and didn't get back in until we left! Breakfast was creative, healthy and again, delicious! We requested a box lunch and were so glad we did - Again, yummy and healthy and so nice to not have to find something along 95! We are already talking about when we can get back to Abingdon Manor -- and we have stayed in 100s of B&Bs across the country -- Abingdon Manor is the complete package!

We needed a place to stay half-way between Hampton Roads, Va and Brunswick, GA and the Select Registry directed us to the Abingdon Manor in Latta, SC. There is not much to do in Latta except walk around the lovely neighborhood with some beautiful homes and relax after a day on the road.

The Inn itself is beautifully restored and nicely maintained. Our room was very nice, but the bath was small (but we did get the last room in the house when we booked). They serve dinner (which is great since there appears to be no where else to eat in Latta) and although it was a multi-course affair, it was not too heavy and reasonably priced. Breakfast was even better. The owners act as host and chef and are very personable and welcoming. Lots of older folks seem to stop here on there way up and down the coast - but they were all very nice to me and my partner (of course, we are no spring chickens either). The Abingdon Manor has beautiful public spaces, nice rooms, good food and a great location off I-95. It is 100 times better than any standard hotel/motel and I would definitely recommend it.

We stayed here for our wedding night after being married in nearby Dillon. The Inn has two beautiful sitting rooms, and a lovely glass-walled dining room on what was once apparently a side porch.

Our room was the Master, on the main floor, and was absolutely beautiful. The bathroom was very large and had nice fixtures, including an original-to-the-home extra-large clawfoot tub.

We arrived and were greeted by our gracious host, who brought wine to our room. Dinner was served at 7:30 as a prix fixe six-course meal. The food was outstanding, well beyond my expectations for the modest $100 price (for two!). The wine list was short, but was very reasonably-priced, and the wines we had were all very good.

Breakfast was complimentary, and was also of outstanding quality.

If you are in the area, or looking for a stop along I-95, you will not find a better value for the money.

The Abingdon Manor was welcoming, but not cloying, we had drinks under a pecan tree in one of several pocket gardens, enjoyed a fabulous dinner and slept peacefully. Will return.
