The bridge itself seems solid enough. You can walk across it and read the historical signing on the other side. It is a nice place for a picnic or just to relax by the stream and read a good book. They could use some picnic tables and restrooms. I have been there twice and enjoyed it both times.

It is the last covered bridge in South Carolina and being able to see history and walk the grounds is an experience

Compared to the covered bridges of the Northeast and Midwest, this one is pretty puny. It's also just straight with no twists or turns to give it a bit more interest. I don't understand why they had to build a covered bridge over this little river, but maybe it floods or maybe the bridge has been moved. A nice addition to the country parks system and worth a look-see, but the bridge is only average.

We love nastalgia, so we were excited to see the last remaining covered bridge in South Carolina. Very pretty setting, but the bridge seems to be falling into disrepair. Also the parking lot could use some work.

This is a little way off the main road, but well worth the time. Very beautiful spot for a picnic lunch or relaxing walk.
