Average, if you've been to covered bridges on the west coast this one doesn't compare.

“Hidden away is a MUST SEE delight!”
Reviewed March 15, 2012

The Campbell Covered Bridge is the last covered bridge in South Carolina. It is off the highway a few miles so if you are not familiar with the area you'll need GPS to find it. We still missed it but flagged down a motorist who cheerfully ordered us to turn around and follow him and he led us there! There are signs pointing to the bridge direction but they are small so easy to miss.
The red covered bridge is a short downhill walk from the parking lot so don't wear heels. We walked down the gravel path to the one lane bridge, old, lovely, and over a stream so clear we could see to the bottom. It was so quiet and peaceful. The bridge is maybe 12 feet wide and 36 feet long. The surrounding pastures are set up for picknicking with benches, stone walk paths and lots of trees. It's an absolutely beautiful place to bring children to play and spend the day.

“Still Standing!”
Reviewed February 10, 2012

My husband and I just recently found this little bridge. In fact there was a little snow on the ground the day we were there. I took a picture of it. It looked like I had stepped back in time. In fact, I have that picture as my screen on my phone.
