It was a last minute trip on 5/25 to Kiawah. I took my daughter and her friend. Everyone member of the staff was so friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and cozy. Our room had a microwave and fridge. When you have kids this is a bonus. The hotel has a lobby that is to die for and the pool is a place you never want to leave. The hotel is located in Farmfield right out side of Kiawah and the night we stayed they had a band at the park and kids running around and dancing. We had a great time.

As others have said, this is a Residence Inn without the cookie cutter feel. Separate living and bedroom areas with TVs in both would probably work great for families. As it is a new property everything is nice and shiny. The staff is friendly and looking to help. Breakfast includes eggs/breads/cereal/meat. As each room has a kitchen, it's nice to have a grocery store hidden across the street in the center. Food clothing and lots of other stuff there too, including a great ice cream shop.

If I had any complaint at all it is that the rear door to the parking lot is exit only. Add a card reader so folks can get in this way and keep it secure. Now folks are blocking it open at times which reduces security.

This is a wonderful place to stay, and it is probably not even five minutes by car to the beach. The hotel is clean and decorated nicely. All of the staff was amazing. The beach was very clean and beautiful also. We played tennis and disc golf every morning at St. John's Park. We went swimming every afternoon. Everything was very accessible. The village with shops, a grocery store and restaurants was literally right across the street. Bike rentals are also an option. I believe at the time the shop across the street rented them for ten dollars a day. I am sure that can change, but that was the price when we were there in May of 2014. You can visit Night Heron Park on Kiawah Island and that is very cool. There is also a disc golf course there. We also walked around the Night Heron Park area and the beach is very close from there on foot. We definitely will be back. Honestly, just a serene spot that abounds with nature and is a beautiful place all around. I would definitely recommend it.

This hotel was a nice surprise. We were in town for a wedding and this a welcome alternative to staying at Kiawah. It is about 10 minutes drive to the resort. The hotel is gorgeous, with very modern touches and a great pool. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. The property is in a development called Freshfields and there is a grocery store, restaurants, and shops about 50yards from the front door. When we were here there were here there we're live bands playing in the courtyard of the development. I would highly recommend this place if you are coming to the area.

As a Platinum Marroitt member, I've seen a lot of Marriott's across the US. This Residence Inn is at top of its class! Amazing decor, attention to detail, good location! I recommend this property to anyone especially families as with all Residence Inn's, come equipped with full kitchen.

After a weeklong stay on Kiawah we decided to extend our trip an extra night and booked a last minute room here - SO pleased we did! The hotel is brand new and beautiful, with a boutique/high end feel. It's part of the Marriott chain, but happily lacks the "chain" feel. Efforts to incorporate the building's design - exterior and interior - to its surroundings (Freshfields, Kiawah/Seabrook) have clearly paid off. The pool and outdoor bar area are particularly lovely with a great pond view, although the lobby is very chic as well. I've stayed at other Residence Inns and this is the nicest I've encountered by far. Only drawback I can think of is that, if you're looking for some beach time, you either have to ride your bike or pay $7/day to park your car at Beachwalker Park on Kiawah, as the hotel didn't have a shuttle that I'm aware of? But overall if you're looking for a weekend getaway with easy access to Charleston and the coast this is an ideal spot. We'll definitely be back!

We stayed here 4 nts and couldn't have been happier with our choice. We had originally wanted to stay in Charleston but this hotel had an amazing opening special and is only a 30 minute drive from Charleston so we decided to give it a try. We also wanted to visit the beach so this place met both of our needs to explore Charleston and relax on Kiawah Island. We rented bikes from the outdoors store for 3 days (only $19 per bike) and rode around the islands. You can get to a beach on Kiawah within a short 15 min bike ride or a beach on Seabrook Island in about 20. There are paved biking paths that take you to both and the ride is beautiful (this was my fav part). Now for the hotel experience: From check in to check out everything was perfect and I did not want to leave. We got the room we requested at check in with a water view which was gorgeous. The room was very spacious and very clean. Bed was comfortable but I had to request a feather pillow that was more firm instead of what was in the room originally, super soft. The new pillow was in the room within minutes of the request. The only small thing I noticed about the room is that there are no hooks anywhere to hang things to dry. This might have been overlooked since this place is so new. We were very impressed with the hot breakfast. There were lots of options that would meet anyones tastes. The only request I have would be for outside tables on the wrap around deck to sit and enjoy the lake while you eat. The pool and outside patio area was beautiful. Pool was a little cold still in April but we still enjoyed a quick swim to cool off. The staff in every part of the hotel were friendly and greeted you with a smile. The lobby and bar area are uniquely decorated and I was intrigued by all the art on the walls. It was like being in an art museum. Great job on the design of this place, lots of attention to detail. Would stay here again in a heart beat and so should you!
