“Fun place for kids”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 18, 2013

And exercise trails for adults. If the beach gets too hot, play in the shady areas of this island. Kids are riding bikes, participating in Kamp Kiawah, enjoying the most exciting kiddie pool ever!

“Don't leave without stopping in”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 10, 2013

Even if you do not have pool privileges here (which we didn't) you can still enjoy Night Heron. We loved the little reptile zoo, where they have different kinds of snakes displayed plus alligators and other small creatures. There is a small gift shop also. This is where you would go to talk to the guides about the different nature tours you can sign up for.

“Best place for Bike Rentals!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 10, 2013

After spending a few days in Charleston, we decided to drive to Kiawah Island for the afternoon. After reading reviews, we found that the best way to explore the island was by bike (there really isn't much public parking). So we found bike rentals through Night Heron Park. Easy to find, easy parking access to rental area, beautiful scenery. This is definitely where we will stay when we return to the island. The atmosphere is really cool and the pool area looked like a blast!!! The prices were cheap for bike rentals - $12 for four hours (and the price went up the longer you wanted to ride). The young ladies in the Nature Center were very helpful and polite. It really made our day extra great! Watch out for gators :) And bring a camera!!!

“Wonderful pool for the whole family!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 29, 2013

This is the largest pool on Kiawah Island and the one we always go to. There are now two pools there, one with water slides and all sorts of water sprayers, tipping buckets etc for adults and bigger kids and then at the other end of this pool water activities for babies and toddlers. The other pool is a large swimming, pool with a shallower end and a deeper end where they have put a fun basketball hoop that everyone loves. When I was there the pool was heated and so nice and warm! A few people had floats and balls in the pool. The water slide pool had two life guards. The other pool did not have a life guard. There are lots of chaises, towel service, food/ drink service ( although people brought drinks etc with them also) and a wildlife center where you can see alligators, snakes, birds, turtles etc. They have Camp Kiawah for kids with activities but it wasn't going on when we were there.
The pools are set in a large park area with ball fields, lagoons etc. Make sure you get resort privileges when you book or you won't be able to use the swimming pools, tennis and some other amenities that you will want if you come here on vacation. We biked along the paths from our villa. Sometimes it might seem a little cool for swimming but when you go there it is nice and sheltered and warm with the cement all around and the heated water in the spring.

“So much fun to be had!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 19, 2013

This is a beautiful, expansive, wooded park with soccer fields, a sand volleyball court, playground, disc golf course, a nature center with animal exhibits, and 2 beautiful swimming pools, one of which is equipped with lots of fun kid gear like water canons, fountains, and water slides.
