“Larger than Life”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 27, 2012

One of the oldest trees in the country - this beautiful tree is tucked away in a very unassuming spot which has been fenced to protect the tree. Go to see the tree but not the area and you may not realize how hugh it is till you look at your photos with people.

“Most unique tree I've ever seen”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 20, 2012 via mobile

Imagine an octopus with many more legs, but now in the form of a tree! Bizarre but yet fascinating at the same time. Fun to see it and now I can say I've seen it. It's all free too. Just slow down going down the dirt road riddled with pot holes!

The tree and the support system is simply amazing. It is massive and very well tended to. True southern charm.

Amazing is the only word to describe this 300-400 year old Live Oak tree. It is a must see on your trip to Johns Island.

“oldest living thing east of the mississippi”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 30, 2012

words can not describe the awe of standing in the presence of this ancient oak. i have been told by professionals that the tree could be 1500-1800 years old. why the publicity only says 300 to 400 is unexplainable. you pass 300 year old trees driving to the angel oak. go see it before "progress" kills it.
