This is a nice, clean, family-friendly beach. I left with only one injury ~ a nasty sunburn (did you know sunscreen can expire? Check the date.). Usually a day at the beach involves several scrapes and a few cuts; but not here ~ there were few shells and no glass, broken toys, etc. Both nature and man seem to take care of this beach.

It's very sandy, and nice fine sand at that, that is firm enough to walk on easily. There wasn't much seaweed either. The beach is on the ocean & unsheltered so you get mild breakers to play in and SC is far enough south that the water is warm.

Parking is only $8.00 a day and there is no charge if you are on foot. They even have beach accessible wheelchairs to rent, call ahead though. There're showers on the way back to the parking lot to rinse off the sand & salt.

We were staying about 20 min from the beach, this was perfect b/c you could rent umbrellas, chairs and change all in the same place. We've always had use of a beach house but didn't this time.

Only Down Side was you could put their umbrella and chairs only in a selected area which in June was CROWDED!

We drove to this one after finding that the Folly beach is still closed from the hurricane two years ago.

We got there not long after they open and everyone is right. The parking lot fills up in about an hour. Parking is $8 but it is goo for in and out all day.

We rented chairs and umbrella for just $25 which was a great deal because they come down and drill the hole for you and tell you where to sit so you don't have to move for the high tide.

This is beach to go to you if you have a family or are older.

Beautiful beach, not too crowded. Was $8 to park, well worth it. Get there early, as parking lot was full as we were leaving

Isle of Palms is a clean beach with the basics for anyone wanting a day in the sun. Parking was 1 dollar an hour I believe. You pay at the parking dispenser and post your ticket on your dashboard. The water was warm, clean and we has a blast. I would recommend a visit as the drive to the beach itself is also enjoyable.
