We did not go to this restaurant for a long time because it is in a mall and there is construction going on around the place. When we entered the restaurant, we thought it was a bit outdated and the customers were old and probably looking for a bargain. Immediately, our impression changed when we met our server from Boston and we got to sample the Mimosas and bloody Marys, both on special. When the food came out, we were genuinely bowled over. And, the dessert, I am not sure where to start. The dessert is out of this world and it is a real pleasure to have their dessert chef guide you on which dessert to have for that day.

So, don't judge a book by its cover. This is very much a fine restaurant. Make sure to overlook the location, the construction and the carpeting . The food, servers and owners are fantastic. We cannot wait to go back soon. My wife described this as the best place she has eaten in Charleston to date!

After driving around the area for a bit, we could not find any open restaurants, so we decided to try this little restaurant. It is tucked in a shopping area and construction was going on all around it. The interior was nice and clean. Nothing fancy.....the staff was very friendly and helpful. Each of us ordered something different, and I had an entrée off the Gluten Free menu. Wow! We were over the moon when our food arrived. It was excellent. It was fresh, hot and very tasty. I had scallops....cooked to perfection! They were like eating butter! The sides were also fresh and delicious. The grouper and shrimp were also wonderful ( well according to my daughter and friend). This is most definitely a "go to" for my next trip to the Island!

We enjoyed a very nice Birthday and New Year's Eve dinner at the Long Island Cafe. Everything from appetizers to entrees to dessert was very good.

We had lunch here and it just wasn't great. I think there are better choices on the island. We did not try it for dinner. Service was fair. Just not very impressive. That said, if you decide to try this restaurant, don't be put off by the construction. You can park anywhere in the parking lot even though it seems confusing. You can walk safely around the outer edge to the restaurant.
