“I WILL BE BACK”

Great spot to spend the night or more time if you have it. Welcomed at the front of the resort by name. Free attendant parking. Front desk expected me and called me by name. Wall Street, Charleston and USA Today papers freel. Several resturants to dine or snack on property. Great on property bar. Bar tender makes a mean drink. Spacious rooms, fantastic beds and bathroom. Flat screen TV's. If you are lucky enough to get an ocean view with a balcony jump on it! Get up in time for the breakfast buffett. Outstanding selection and food value. Try the Cheese Low Country Grits with seafood wow. I did not get to enjoy the spacious pool but this is on the ocean anyway. Just an all round pleasureable business night experience.

Having come to WD for 16 years it has been sad to see this resort spiral downward. The golf course, particular the Links, has really fallen backward. The Links has now become an overpriced muni. The greens are horrible. The service is pathetic.

The restaurants are extremely disappointing. Service is poor. Food quality is a joke.

The beaches have improved since the days of severe erosion. Now they are just overcrowded. The days of the tranquil beaches at WD are gone and are closer to Myrtle Beach.

What has happened to WD? Not really sure....hopefully they will recognize their problems and get this resort back to where it was.

The vacation was truly a vacation. The service, facilities and atmosphere were excellent. Live music was available each night. The only problem was it shut down at 10. A little longer would have been great. Drinks were exspensive but the rest of the food was reasonable. Great place to jog and or ride bikes. The staff couldn't have been friendlier.

We rented a 4 bedroom, 4.5 bath oceanfront townhouse that had full access to all the amenities of the Wild Dunes Resort. The beach is steps away and a short walk from the townhouse we could take a dip in the small pools, use the fitness room or grab a snack at the poolside grill or the small ice cream shop. The Wild Dunes has many, many things to do including biking, wonderfully maintained clay tennis courts, 2 very nice golf courses and any kind of excursion that you could think of. The beach in Isle of Palms is beautiful with fine sand and clean waters. It took us only 30 minutes from landing in Charleston to get to the resort. All in all, very highly recommended.

Nothing could be more beautiful or comfortable. Four day weekend in 3 BR condo with terrace overlooking 18th green and ocean. We were adjacent to the pool and easy boardwalk with shower to the beach. Surf was warm and for all ages. Loved the pampering at the spa ( really fresh with innovative services and products). Planning a long fall weekend. Ask spa personal for personalized shopping tips. I particularly loved a feeling that I "lived" at Wild Dunes even if it was for a long weeknd.

We visited the Wild Dunes Resort for the first time for a family vacation hoping for some rest and relaxation during the first week of July (Saturday to Saturday). We stayed in one of the oceanfront condos in Summer House that we booked directly through the resort. The grounds of the resort are vast and well maintained and the beach is absolutely beautiful. The condo was spacious and the view, admittedly, was fantastic.

Now for the problems----

1. Housekeeping- none of the staff at the resort were aware of the housekeeping options. While all were very pleasant and attempted to assist, we had to call every day (sometimes multiple times a day) and got a different story from everyone we spoke with! It is still unclear exactly what options are available for individuals staying in condos. Ultimately, we never really had a clean condo aside from a change of towels and emptying of trash!

2. Facilities- Overall the resort is well maintained and there are a plethora of activities for those who book through the resort as we did. However, regardless of how you book, you still have to pay extra for all activities. The beach is gorgeous but you have to pay extra for a chair and umbrella. The pools (except the boardwalk inn pool) are free for those who book through the resort, but are way too few and small (given the size of the resort) and consequently overcrowded. The place is great if you have kids but if you don't, you may want to look elsewhere! Finally, for those individuals who don't eat seafood or a lot of meat in general, the meal options are extremely if not totally limited. Thankfully, the condo we stayed at was equipped with a full kitchen so we were able to cook our own meals--but not something we expected to do for the entire week of our stay.

3. Disability access - The website stated that our condo was handicap accessible- however, when we arrived, it was clear that our condo was not actually handicap accessible. We had a bathtub with no bars. The resort was actually very helpful in providing us with a few extra things to facilitate our stay. However, 1 day into our trip, the elevator at summer house stopped working and remained out of service for 2 subsequent days. For someone in a wheelchair (as was the case for us) this meant being confined to the condo for two and a half days. Again, the resort was responsive and eventually discounted our stay but that didn't make up for the fact that we could barely leave the condo for a few days.

All in all, the resort has a lot of potential, but I have stayed at far better places, both in the United States and around the world, for the same amount of money and i wouldn't choose to return.

My only disappointment was we could only stay for 2 days. This resort is gorgeous and right on the ocean and the beacjh there is incredible and clean. The property is in perfect shape and had loads of activities for young and old. Our 2 BR Village rental looked brand new with top of the line everything and huge bathrooms. Only downside is everything is really expensive so would add up aftwr a few days. We will defintely be back.
