After cancelling at trip to Destin, FL because of Hurricane Issac, my long time friend and I planned this trip to The Palms Hotel at the Isle of Palms, SC. We chose this place because of the short distance to Charleston so we could enjoy the beach and also go into the city to shop and enjoy some restaurants. We were not disappointed. The Palms Hotel was in a perfect location to the restaurants and shops at Isle of Palms and also the Town Center in Mt. Pleasant where there is good shopping. Our room was 322 on the third floor and we were pleased with the cleanliness of our room. We were welcomed with a smile at 3:00 a.m. after our flight had been delayed and I must say this was especially welcomed because of the apprehension of driving a rental car in new territory at 3:00 a.m. The same smile was there on the day we had to leave the hotel at 4:00 a.m. The room attendant was a lovely person who seemed to enjoy serving the public. We were right on the beach for morning sunning and then after cleaning up, we traveled to Charleston in the evenings. This was a perfect long Labor Day weekend!
