There are six of us at SurfWatch this week and three nights are spent going out with each couple paying for the group one time. J & K from Ohio were bicycling today and stopped at a bagel shop next door to Flora's and decided this was their choice tonight. It was a good one. Entrees are in the low $20s and are well worth their price.
It's a quite nicely appointed dining establishment with a very nice menu. Specials tonight were diverse with some very interesting combinations. A calamari and sausage appetizer was basted in a reduced balsamic vinegar and honey sauce was very good, as was a Manhatten Sea Food Chowder with lots of fresh fish.
A special entre enjoyed by two of the men was a veal chop valdonza, a very large serving. Another special made in house was lobster ravioli with a creamed spinach and diced tomato sauce. There were three orders at our table of Capellini Dora, angel hair pasta tossed with crab meat and shrimp (at least six) with diced tomatoes, garlic and white wine sauce.
Service was nicely spaced out and while two hours plus for dining with a table of six might be slow for some, it was just right for us. We will be having a new group with us, our children, we will return for another evening at Flora's. Flora, by the way makes all the deserts to include a very nice Key Lime Pie, coconut cake, and several others.
