During the Heritage Golf Tournament my wife, daughter, and 3 friends, with reservations, went to The Topside Restaurant for dinner.
The restaurant was unbelievably busy, but we were greeted warmly by our server. Everyone seemed to enjoy the appetizers that they had ordered, but my crab bisque had a taste that I had not encountered in a bisque before, so when the server (Angie) came back and asked everyone if they liked their food, I asked what the herb was in the bisque, and she mentioned "rosemary". She offered to take it back and provide me with something else, so I asked for the shrimp cocktail, which was very good. I have to point out; the server was so nice I almost hated to ask her to take it back.
I normally get the shrimp and grits at Topside, and always enjoy it, but on that night it was a little too spicy, and you couldn't really taste the shrimp and cheese grits. The spice overpowered the dish. Still good, but not near as good as I was accustomed to. Everyone else was very happy with the dish each had ordered.
Dessert......just wonderful. The cheesecake was scrumptious, the bourbon pecan pie fantastic!
I will go back, but will not order the bisque or the shrimp with the cheese grits. I am giving the food a "very good" rating because of the other's comments about their food. Mine was just average.
