My husband and I have visited Hilton Head Island several years in a row now and Catch 22 has become our new favorite restaurant. It has a menu with original choices and seems to have a little something for everyone's tastes. My husband had the tuna sashimi appetizer and it was awesome. For his main entree, he had the Mixed Grill (Kobian fish, filet mignon and crab legs served with spinach) and thought it was delicious. I had the hush puppy appetizer, which was delicious, but my entree was excellent. Typically, I am not a fan of scallops, but ordered the pan-seared scallops with the shittake mushroom/prosciuttio/goat cheese ravioli because the flavor mix seemed too tempting to pass up. I was not disappointed -- nothing left on my plate! Our desserts -- blueberry, goat cheesecake tart and a chocolate cake -- were outrageous. Besides the excellent food, the service was superb! Our waitress Kirsten was attentive and sincerely very friendly without being overbearing. The atmosphere was casual which added to a relaxed dining experience -- modern art on the walls tempered by the warmth lent by the cranberry colored walls and wood. We will be telling everyone we know to visit Catch 22 while visiting Hilton Head Island. You will not be disappointed!

We have frequented Hilton Head Island for about several years now. We love fine food in a relaxing atmosphere. We stumbled upon Catch 22 without a reservation during the prime season for travelers. We were greeted with warm smiles by the lovely hostess,Daisy, and promptly seated. They were quite busy though we were made to feel as at home as if we were regular customers. Being travelers we were taken immediately by unique interior filled to the ceiling with original local art. The atmosphere is bright and cheery and the staff very professional and courteous.
Our waiter, Josh, was there before we needed for anything. He was quite witty and knowledgeable of the menu, the extensive wine list as well as local points of interest. We ordered a "Catch 22" appetizer that consisted of three choices of appetizers. Every one was delicious and very well presented. The salads were fresh and tasty. The entrees left nothing to be desired except more room to fill. Hats of to Chef Brian. The prices are fair and they offer a choice of many entrees in smaller portions if you desire full course treatment.
When we inquired about the Artwork, we were surprised to learn that all of the work was by a local artist, and for sale. Our waiter arranged for us to purchase, via credit card, several smaller pieces to take home and then he was kind enough to wrap them up for us. He then arranged for us to meet the artist as he was dining that evening. Wonderful work, L. Robert. www.LRobertArt.com. I can't wait to buy more. This was an all around great time for us and we will return and bring our family and friends. Thanks again, Catch 22

Wonderful early bird specials. Food and service was quite good and above average for Hilton Head. Will make it a regular stop.

We recently visited the restaurant with some friends from the North to partake of an "early bird" special - $15 for a small glass of wine (red or white, the house's choice), a minimal nondescript salad, and a small main course. Several people had pieces of almond encrusted tilapia, which you could cook much better at home. One had a calamari dish, which consisted of a small plate of spagetti with a dozen or so small squid rings in a white sauce, relatively bland and certainly not worth being called a "special." The specials are either a trap for tourists or an attraction for penny-pinching Hilton Head residents whose taste buds have long gone dormant. Unfortunately, Catch 22 is typical of many seafood-oriented Island restaurants which cater to older residents or tourists. It's far better to pay the higher price at better venues, both on and off the Island, such as Charlie's Crab or Siegler's, or one of the newer Asian places.
