Great restaurant with a large local following. Features freshly caught fish always prepared to perfection. Dinner comes with salad, bread, awesome potatoes and assorted fresh vegetable, so the price is very reasonable. Food is cooked to order so they are able to accommodate any food allergies. Extensive wine list that is also reasonably priced compared to other restaurants. A definite must on your next trip to Hilton Head.

we were in Hilton Head Island for three days, and went to Sea Grass three times! First visit was due to proximity to our hotel; return visits due to our enjoyment and appreciation of the fine food and service. The menu was varied, with something for everyone. Local dishes such as the cheese tomato pie, were excellent. A true gem and well worth the visit!

We visited Sea Grass Grille on New Year's Eve 2009, which is traditionally not a good night to judge a restaurant since it is usually full tilt nut that night. We come to Hilton Head every New Year's and have tried many restaurants over the years and have been disappointed in most for New Year's Eve. The Sea Grass Grille was a refreshing surprise. We had a 7:30pm reservation and were seated as soon as we arrived. The staff was very friendly, considering how hectic they were. It looks like they made a special menu for New Year's Eve and the choices were all mouth watering. The seafood was very fresh and cooked to order. The kitchen is open and right next to the dining area, so you know your dinner hasn't been sitting under a hot lamp until someone orders it. I had grouper and my wife salmon in a puff pastry and it was excellent & very fresh. We ordered wine to go with the dinner and the wine prices were all reasonable. Our server was attentive to us throughout the meal. We finished the meal by splitting a baked Alaska and it was delicious. Our past experience on New Year's is that the restaurant tries to turn over the tables as quickly as possible, but we never felt rushed at the Sea Grass Grille. There appeared to be a lot of regulars there as the staff knew many by name. The place is a little difficult to find at night as it's pretty dark on the highway, but worth the search. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an upscale, but not snooty, seafood restaurant. i know we'll be there next New Year's Eve!

We recently had She crab soup and the pate and a friend had the tomato pie as appetizers and then had the most delicious entrees which included the tilapia encrusted in parmesan, grilled salmon, pork loin chop with chutney and the shrimp with pasta. The desserts we had included soggy cake which was fantastic and interesting and key lime pie. The entire experience including all of the food items and the service was above our expectations. We think it is the best restaurant on the island and maybe in the low country. Chef Chad is an owner and is innovative and creative and along with his co owner Kathy makes sure the dining experience is superb. It was a wonderful experience.
