“Calling Robert Irvine!”
Reviewed October 7, 2013

We ate breakfast at the Plantation Cafe near Coligny Circle expecting more than we got since friends had recommended it. The breakfast was very average and my corned beef hash was from a can. Outdoor seating was adjacent to the parking lot. Service was fine. However, after eating we went inside to use the restrooms. That experience convinced me never to return! The inside was decorated around the time we first visited the island (1979). The plastic tablecloths gave it a dingy, dark, and almost dirty impression. The outdoor stained wooden latticework that is used indoors here has not been changed in decades and added to the ugliness and darkness. The step-up seating area is an accident waiting to happen. The journey to the restrooms took us through a door and past the serving area for the kitchen. UGH! How many people pass by your food before it is put on the table? Robert Irvine, a resident of the island and a fellow local restauranteur, please rescue this "Restaurant Impossible" and update the menu and decor!

“Outstanding Breakfast”
Reviewed October 7, 2013

Excellent breakfast. Biscuits, sausage, eggs, gravy, apples, hashbrowns and chocolate chip pancakes (yes, I was hungry) were all wonderful. We'll be back.

“Slowest service ever”
Reviewed October 1, 2013 via mobile

Always come here for breakfast when at HHI. The food is good, but we waited 45 minutes for it. I felt sorry for our waitress who apologized every time she came to our table. We will try it again, hoping it was a fluke.

“nothing special”
Reviewed September 30, 2013

We ate breakfast here because of a recommendation from a "local." It was average and there were only 2 other tables with people at 8:30am on a Saturday morning. This should have been a clue. We had the creole breakfast and crab cakes benedict. The "crab cakes" didn't have any visible crab in them and no crab flavor. It just looked like a medium brown mash with no texture. I asked the waitress if it was a crab cake because I though she possibly misunderstood what I ordered. She said it was a crab cake. The sauce didn't have any flavor at all. The creole breakfast did have a little flavor but wasn't something we would get again. The homefries were hashbrowns that we didn't eat all of and we normally love hashbrowns. Same for the biscuit. The hot cinnamon apples that came as a side with the meals were good. The waitress, Marisol, was very polite and attentive but this may have been because we were her only customers. With only water to drink, our total bill was $24 for breakfast with no extras.

“Time to join current world”
Reviewed September 20, 2013

Have eaten here many times over past decade; today as visitor to HHI rather than resident. When asked for password to WiFi was told by server owner will not give to them or allow!!! Really??? If concerned about non patron use, change as needed but not providing is really out of touch with today's world. Good food; not great.....great staff and service
