Description: Old Fort Pub is a charming restaurant with one of the best views on Hilton Head Island. Perched on the banks of the Intra-coastal Waterway, it showcases unrivaled nightly sunsets and a rich history. So named for the adjacent Civil War shore battery, Fort Mitchel, the restaurant’s foyer is decorated with historic photos depicting the “War of Northern Aggression". Previously featured on The Food Network and in other notable publications, the Old Fort Pub has become a tradition for over 35 years. Guests enjoy Chef Keith Josefiak’s “New Southern” favorites inspired with influences from around the globe. An excellent choice for a celebrating a birthday, holiday or a romantic evening.

Will certainly return. Service was average, but everything else great. A nice touch was that if you are wearing dark, they give you a black napkin instead of white due to possible lint. love that.

We were four friends traveling to Hilton Head for R and R. The Old Fort Pub is in a delightful, harborside setting on SkullCreek Drive. We arrived as the sun was setting and were graciously seated outside. The table was round (perfect for conversation) and softly lit. We enjoyed cocktails and appetizers (crab and shrimp parfait is perfect!) as the sun set, watching the view of the water and an osprey overhead.
Before our dinner arrived one of our party needed to move indoors as she is sensitive to some of the smaller biting gnats. The hostess graciously reseated us without any problem at all. Unfortunately, there was only room in the bar which is the least romantic setting in the place. But from my experience with other dinners here, the main dining room is quite lovely, softly lit, subdued noise factor and attentive service.
I would not recommend the crawfish cakes I had for an entree. Hard to make any seafood cake without running into the too-much-filler problem, but I'm always looking. On a previous evening I've had the quail which was perfect.
All in a lovely dinner in a beautiful setting

We've been here many times before, and they slipped some this time. The Romaine lettuce in the Caesar salad was brown on the cut, so it was a couple of days old, although it was crisp. It was served, and there wasn't any fresh pepper offered, and the waiter and server weren't around to ask, no salt or pepper on the table. I got a shrimp and pasta entree, which was very good, and there was a lot of shrimp, the other entrees got high marks too. The view from the dining room can't be beat; a bit pricey, but comparable to other good restaurants.

Our party of 4 really enjoyed our recent dinner at Old Fort Pub. We had a window table overlooking the calm and beautiful sound. Service was very friendly and professional. We started with the lamb tenderloin goat cheese tart and the smoked trout and crostini, both very good. Based on the recommendation of the waiter, the men ordered the trout with artichoke, mushrooms and cherry tomatoes, and it was excellent. The pork tenderloin with pancetta, roasted peaches and polenta was a great marriage of flavors. The cherry creme brulee was the perfect finish to a lovely dinner. A wonderful restaurant for a special evening.

The concierge at our hotel recommended the Old Fort Pub, but cautioned us that the prices were "definitely upscale." Always the bargain hunter, I found their "early bird" menu on their website and decided that the three-course meals were definitely worth $22. The food was incredible.......creative, delicious and looked like dishes in a gourmet magazine. The servers struck the perfect balance between being attentive, but not intrusive. It was as if Mr. Carson from Downton Abbey was in the background orchestrating the meal. The view over the water and the ambiance only added to a memorable evening.
