The Old Oyster Factory is one of Hilton Heads finest seafood restaurants. The crab legs are a must! Large portions and great craft beers! Our waiter, Jeremy, also had extensive knowledge of the menu and gave us great recommendations on drinks. The view of the water from the deck made the whole experience even that much better and very romantic for my boyfriend and I. Will be going back soon.

Located on the water, we had a picturesque view of the sun setting. The food left a lot to be desired. The seafood sampler was ok, calamari and hush puppies were terrible. The best part about the meal was the sweet tea. Maybe it was an off night, but the only thing good about this place was the location.

Visited on a week night had 7 PM reservations, we were seated when we arrived 20 minutes early, the place was about 60% full. After being seated we were ignored, the north side section we were seated in was fully seated with most tables already eating or at least much further along than we were. After 8 minutes we had our drink order taken and 7 minutes later the drinks came. Those around is were served dinner and desert etc. while we waited. We finally got our order in and from there service was up to par, however most of the food was disappointing. Our orders ranged from seafood pasta to simple fried shrimp, and oysters. All the fried food including the normally great Hush Puppies was warm and seemed to have been cooked well in advance and served to us when we ordered. For the premium charged here the food was not worth it on this day, far better quality can be had for half the price at the Sea Shack. Maybe just a bad day but they were not that busy, we will go else where in the future.

"JHBtravel"- travel internationally both on pleasure and business and stay in a range of hotels from good quality budget hotels to 5* boutique hotels and have experienced all types of restaurants from chain to celebrity chef inspired gourmet establishments but always look for good service and quality which should not be dependant on price

Location - rating *****
This restaurant has the most stunning location overlooking the water and reed beds

Place -rating ****
The restaurant design is just right for the style of restaurant with timber beams and large windows overlooking the water. There is a very nice bar area-outside deck and the restaurant inside is split into different areas so it doesn't feel to big

Cleanliness - rating ****
Although the restaurant was very busy it was kept clean and tidy

Service - rating ****
The server we had was great with a good knowledge of the menu and genuinely attentive. The bar staff were the same

Offer - rating *****
This is an excellent fish restaurant the oysters were one of the best we have had and the fried fish platter I had was good quality and generous

Value for money - rating ****
We felt that the price was about right for the place and quality of food and service

As long as you go to this restaurant with the right expectations, you'll have a great dinner and enjoy the evening. Expect a family atmosphere, a lot of kids and some noise. If you are looking for a quiet couples night out with a "white tablecloth" type of feeling, this is not for you. The food was very good, fresh and well prepared. The service was great, and for what you get, my wife and I felt it was definitely worth it.

The oysters are great, regardless of how you like them. My wife loved the hush puppies and her Riesling, Dr. L. Of course, the location is terrific as well, some great sunset views.
