Once again on our vacation to Hilton Head we went to eat at The Old Oyster Factory. We asked for our favorite server Heather and she happened to be working. She is always so friendly and happy it makes our experience more enjoyable. I was surprised to see that the name of my favorite dish had now changed to Dayboat Scallops. Heather explained they are sourcing them form North Carolina but that I would not be disappointed and I wasn't. We love this place and will continue to come every year.

Let me say that the view of the marsh and broad creek is quite lovely. There are several outdoor decks. The inside is timber, the real thing, and done very well. High ceiling and spacious inside. Our server was very pleasant but way too busy. She had way too many tables, as did the rest of the servers, in my opinion. The management may not agree, but it seemed the several diners were rubbernecking, looking for their servers. These were not lazy servers, they were running the whole time we were there. Our server forgot to bring a shrimp appetizer, and when we inquired, she did not argue, but politely admitted the mistake and added the she would also see that they were taken off the bill, which she did. Our meals were presented very nicely. The veggies were artful, quite fresh, and perfectly done. Our seafood was cooked and spiced perfectly. My friend's steak was delicious. One diner didn't care for her fish, but it was more of an individual texture thing. The prices were fair. There was a souvenier/t shirt counter which was neat. There is a large bar area too. I would return. It was very good but I wouldn't exactly say it was outstanding. Management needs a couple more servers and it would be a little more relaxing than watching the servers scurry all evening. All said, it was very nice.

75 cent oysters and shrimp at the bar during happy hour. The staff are friendly and engaging. The views overlooking the marsh are spectacular, especially during sunset. We enjoyed it so much we went back twice during our week long vacation!

This is a fun place for family groups. Summertime brings loads of people and live music outside while waiting for your table. Off season brings few crowds and beautiful sunsets. The food is good, the hush puppies yummy. Coupons for free salads appear in some booklets, look for those.
