We decided to go to the Old Oyster Factory to celebrate the 4th. Everything was amazing! Our friends went to the Boathouse and endured a four hour wait and the fireworks didn't go off until 11pm!! We on the other hand, enjoyed a fabulous dinner while watching the Shelter Cove fireworks. Michael took excellent care of us as well. We'll be back.

This was our first visit although we have been to both sister restaurants, Alexander's and Redfish. Our server, Frank, was prompt, courteous, attentive but not intrusive. The food was presented well. My husband's swordfish, lightly blackened with pineapple mango salsa, was terrific. We recommend this for families and couples.

Definitely worth the wait. We know a line usually means good food. We have three kids and on the advice of the manager, Jessica, we headed to the back deck where my kids were entertained and enjoyed the view. After a great dinner we stayed for fireworks. Amazing view! Can't wait to go back!

Have avoided Old Oyster for the past several years. It has become too much like a cafeteria - bland food, poor service, etc.

But, as the building has some of the best views on the island, decided to give it another shot. First, intentionally went later to avoid the massive crowds that typically come here. That helped. Got there around 7:30. Sat on the back deck for about 30 minutes until we were called.

Service was excellent, and not rushed. And we were seated by the window, which is much better than in the middle of the large room, better views.

The food was wonderful. Not the bland, run of the mill I had expected. Everything was cooked properly, and was piping hot - as our server did not let it sit in the kitchen.

In summary, we went expecting okay. We got very very good.

Definitely make a reservation through open table via their website. We got there and they seemed very organized; there are even people in the parking lot directing you where to go. We were sat inside in the back along a beautiful wall of floor to ceiling windows. Out waiter was very nice and everything came in a timely fashion. Everyone in our party of 11 loved what they got. From steak to clams to oysters, even the vegetarian/gluten free portabella mushroom plate was delicious. The flour less chocolate cake was the best dessert I've ever had! Expensive, but worth it.
