Description: Signe's Heaven Bound Bakery & Café has been a Hilton Head Island tradition since 1972. Signe Gardo still coordinates the operation, which has been featured in numerous national publications as well as the Food Network for its eclectic breakfast and luncheon menu. All-day breakfast includes a remarkably delicious baked French Toast (blueberry, blackberry and old fashioned) as well as fluffy frittatas, hearty shrimp & grits and an assortment of fresh pastries. An array of Signe's specialty salads appeal to local vegetarians as well as her quiches and tarts. Sandwiches run the gamut from turkey & cranberry to Hot Reubens. Then, of course, there are desserts - lots of them, including our renowned double-chocolate "Mud-dauber" cupcake to sweet-potato/pecan pies, fresh key lime pie and a choice of cakes by the slice, made daily.

Have been going to Signe's for over 25 yrs and have always enjoyed our favorite bread...8-grain.
It makes wonderful sandwiches. Their salads are delicious...favorite is the chicken. Then there are the amazing desserts...hard to pick just one....so enjoy! Looking forward to our next visit.

We have been coming to hilton head since 1964, and have been to signes since its early years at Harbourtown. We paused when she got too into wheat germ, but decided to give it a try this summer. Signes was always known for her chocolate chip cookies. When we arrived, they only had one left, and we were old the rest were in the oven. We took home a variety of cookies and swirl pastries. The sign in the restaurant said made fresh daily. When we arrived home, ever person in our group of 13 remarked that the treats tasted like they were freezer burned. I called Signes to complain, and was told that they do not bake fresh on the weekends. The Woman i spoke with told me that everything had been previously baked and frozen. No apologies, no nothing. I told her they shouldn't advertise baked fresh daily, when they don't. WE WILL NOT RETURN

The blueberry and blackberry French toasts were a real hit among the group. Also enjoyed the mushroom & cheese frittata
The atmosphere was great for our family of 5 we were able to talk and laugh and our voices melded into the general cacophony of the place.
One word of caution, 10% gratuity is automatically added to bill. I didn't realize so ended up giving close to 30%. Service was great, but I'm not that rich.

Signe's was an enjoyable restaurant experience with a wonderful variety of food and bakery options. Although, one of my guests received the wrong food item from the waitress. The waitress also didn't ask about condiments and drink refills. The food was very satisfying and tasteful, as well as the pastries, but the customer service was mediocre. The food that I had ordered (The Western Friatta) was excellent, and highly recommended.
