We booked the Inn based on other trip advisor reviews and we absolutely loved it. Like others have said, the staff is beyond kind and will do whatever you want them to do. One night it rained and we called for room service to get some dessert and coffee. They prepared the desserts right away and brought them into our room in about 5 minutes. I dont know what else can be said about how awesome this place is. They cleaned our room twice a day, we had free parking, free trolley to the beach, tea, water, coffee... internet. I have stayed at alot of hotels but nothing compares to the personal service. Becca was our personal butler, always remembering to ask us about our activities and making sure everything was splendid. Hilton Head is a beautiful place and very relaxing. The Inn is by far, the best place to stay on the Island... Everyone in the Sea Pines plantation was very pleasant. I recommend going out Kayaking with Mitch... They will even book that for you... IT WAS AWESOME. Another note - we had a room right near the lobby/bathroom. NEVER heard anyone, never smelled breakfast... very quiet and peaceful

We selected the Inn at Harbour Town based upon the reviews we read that emphasized the friendly staff and first class accommodations. They were right on. By our second day at the Inn, most of the staff knew us by name and greeted us by name with friendly smiles. The atmosphere is relaxed, but any request was undertaken promptly and with a friendly attitude. The beds were very comfortable and we enjoyed the complimentary coffee each morning on each of the three floors. The rooms were beautifully decorated and clean and the maid staff changed towels twice daily. Overall the Inn is a first-class hotel with one of the most pleasant, friendliest staffs we've ever encountered and that includes numerous Four Seasons hotels. The rates were also incredibly reasonable. We loved it and would go back without hesitation.

This was our first trip to Hilton Head, so we were unsure where to stay. Several friends recommended Sea Pines, and since we were only staying for a few nights, we decided to choose the Inn! We are so glad we did!

As soon as we made our reservation, Ambika called to see if we needed any assistance before our arrival. She quickly offered to check into the tandem bike we wanted (all of the complimentary bikes are adult size only) and called us back with specific information, and arranged to have the bike delivered for us.
Hilton Head is beautiful! We were impressed as soon as we entered Sea Pines, and the Inn! Upon our arrival, we were greeted immediately by one of the staff, and offered iced tea or water while we checked in. The staff (especially Ambika) were wonderful! They were so friendly and welcoming! Check in is actually at a desk, with comfortable chairs to sit in instead of standing at a counter, a nice touch. While our luggage was unloaded, Ambika showed us around the lobby, and informed us about the omlet station that was in the area off of the lobby each morning. There were computers in one area that our teenage son loved - sort of a study area with very comfortable seating and a great view of the golf course.
Ambika actually took us to our room, showed us around, and explained the phone system, etc and asked if there were anything else we needed. At one point, when we were having a little trouble connecting our wireless, she even offered to come up to our room to help with that! (turns out norton was blocking it and we fixed that by turning it off for a few minutes)
A previous traveler complained on here that there was no restaurant on site - there is a small area each morning where breakfast is served, including an omlet station. It is continental style - danishes, croissants, and the omlet station included - $12 for adults.
There is also a bar from 3-11 and room service. Otherwise, there is a multitude of restaurants close by in Harbour Town, and it is just a short walk through two parking lots if you cut through Ketch Court. Even faster if you ride your bikes. In Harbour Town, the Harbour Town Bakery and Cafe serves breakfast untl 11:30, and the French Toast and sausage were great (we ate there twice) . They have HUGE muffins, and also serve lunch. We also ate dinner at the Crazy Crab - which was okay, but cost $70.00 for dinner and two of us split a platter. I wouldn't have minded the cost as much had the food been great, but it wasn't. There are many other restaurants close to the Inn as well, and just down the street at the little shopping center is Giiseppies Pizza - great pizza and they deliver, one night we had appetizers delivered about 10:00 because we were starving but wanted to swim in the pool instead of stopping to go eat.
The room was awesome! The beds were so comfortable and the room was large and spotlessly clean. The soaking tub was huge, and so was the shower! I just loved the huge bathroom! The water pressure was great! Turn down service each night was nice, coming back to ambient lighting, music and little chocolates and gifts!
The Inn offered a coffee bar from 6 am until around 11 or so, with hot chocolate, tea and coffee on each floor as well as in the lobby. Each afternoon they had tea and water with lemon -my daughter loved making her own lemonade : ) - in the lobby. They offered complimentary bikes and provided pool and beach towels as well. Really, anything we needed, they were more than happy to help. Another great plus since it was sooooo hot, was a big wooden cooler full of complimentary water bottles outside by the front entrance. There were also complimentary bottles of water in the mini fridge when we arrived.
The pool and tennis courts are right across from the front of the inn, and the back overlooks the golf course. There is a small fitness center on each floor, however we rode our bikes every day so did not get the chance to use it.
I can't say enough about the staff at the Inn at Harbour Town. The little things really made this a great place to stay! The staff wears kilts, a neat touch, and many of them are from the UK. They were so nice, so friendly and so helpful. When we returned each time, we were always warmly greeted, and Ambika asked specifically about the activities we were planning, and how they were. She was amazing. The staff really made us feel right at home.

In a word: overrated. As I have mentioned in other reviews, we have stayed in many 5 star resorts around the world. We never would have stayed here if we didn’t have to for a conference!

They are obviously very confused about where people should check-in, since they sent us back and forth for over an hour and no one seemed to know where to check-in! The room was moldy, and the salmon at dinner was old and very smelly. We were alternatly laughing our heads off and then feeling sorry for the employees who had to wear kilts and sporrans! Need I say more?

The grounds were pretty, the staff tried to be helpful, and I am sure that the size of the resort makes some people feel that it is a peaceful place. For us, these were not enough to compensate. I am sure that I am just spoiled from staying at nicer hotels, but I can honestly say that given my experience this is NOT where I would choose to relax. The only reason why I will not rate it 1 star is I thought that the staff tried to be helpful given how shoddy everything was!

This letter is in response to a recent guest review on Tripadvisor of The Inn At Harbour Town noted on June 11, 2009. The guests stayed at the Inn in March 2009. We regret these particular guests did not have a pleasant experience while staying at our Inn and encourage them to stay with us again. I am confident they would join the thousands of extremely satisfied guests who have stayed with us.

The Inn is a luxury hotel in a distinctive setting with expanded amenities and exceptional service creating a memorable experience. The Inn is rated as a Mobil Four-Star, AAA Four-Diamond property and is a member of the Preferred Hotel Group. In early 2009 we received our award from Mobil Travel Guide after Mobil's incognito Hotel Inspectors evaluated more than 750 standardized criteria for hotels based on facility inspections and service evaluations – the evaluation is widely regarded as the most rigorous in the industry. The Inn At Harbour Town is the island’s sole Mobil Four-Star property and one of three in the State of South Carolina. Mobil’s collection of signature prominent named Four-Star category hotels are known for personalized service and hospitality, in addition to luxurious accommodations.

We encourage people to read The Inn At Harbour Town’s numerous outstanding reviews on Tripadvisor to fully understand our award-winning standards of excellence, unparalleled guest services and outstanding hotel facilities.

we enjoyed our stay in hilton head as the location of the inn is perfect for walking everywhere. be aware though, that even if you request linens be changed, that is not the case. our bed linen had a disturbing small blood stain that we wanted changed. we were concerned but were able to sleep withouth the flat (top) sheet for our stay which encompassed four days. when you are paying approx $300/day, clean linens are warranted by most!

I stayed at the Inn at Harbour Town for a wedding and it is hands down one of the most fabulous places I have ever stayed. It is so much better than other "luxury"hotels I have stayed in. From the moment you get there, the staff know you by name and are so wonderful and accommodating.

The rooms are very nice and spacious and the bathrooms are to-die-for. I could have stayed in that bathtub for hours. They have Molton Brown products (!!!!!), comfy slippers, and plush robes. There is an ipod dock/radio in the room, nice mini fridge, and free wireless.

If I could stay at any hotel, it would be this one. Yes, it is fairly expensive, but once you get in the door, most of the expenses that other luxury hotels tack on are already included (like wireless).
