This was a Christmas gift from my wife. We'd been to Hilton Head 2 times previous and went up in the lighthouse but playing the course was so much more fun than looking at it from a distance. Even though it was cart path only and a caddy was mandatory, I loved the experience. Yes, the course is tight with lots of trees but Mike (forecaddy) kept things fun and interesting. He gave us aiming points, read the greens, and gave us background history of the course and pro play along the way. The course itself is a challenge. There is well placed water and bunkers on many holes including some of the most difficult par 3's I've seen anywhere. But all the par 5's were very manageable as our foursome played the four of them at 2 under. Number's 17 & 18 are my 2 most memorable holes, not for how I played them, but for the experience. Hitting off the tee on #18 with the ocean on your left and the lighthouse at the end of the fairway is a total "distraction" but an awesome experience. I'd love to play it again!
