You don't need to travel "across the pond" to play at one of the world's best courses. The RBC Heritage Championship is played right here on Hilton Head. The beauty, the care, the elegance is felt as soon as you walk onto the course.

“Not close to worth the money.”
Reviewed April 9, 2013 via mobile

Played harbortown links on the last day with a 3 PM tee time. The course was way over booked with way too many foursomes out. Had to wait five minutes on every shot except for on the greens. The greens were in okay shape. In order to finish before was dark at 8 PM we had to combine three foursomes on the last hole. This was quite dangerous. I wrote an email to the assistant pro and was told he will send me a rain check for another round at the course. Which is nice. I also suggested to the pro that Hellertown links offer a twilight rate say starting at 2 PM in the afternoon for half the going price which is with tax $284. The four caddy system is awesome. It's great that Overtown links doesn't make the caddies carry two bags of golf clubs plus do all the usual duties that caddies do.

“Really great course”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

This is a great golf course. We played it on the last day before they shut it down to set up for the Heritage. Greens are very small and there are lots of bunkers so approach shots are tough. Greens are fast, but the fairways aren't as tight as you might think. The Forecaddy program is awesome and really helps you understand and enjoy the course.

“Perfect Condition and a Great Course”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

What a great course, both beautiful and very challenging. Just when you are getting comfortable, the back nine turns it up on you. This is not the place for errant drives. Brandon, our caddy, was very helpful with shot placement advice (very important) and green reads.

“A great layout to measure your game”
Reviewed March 28, 2013

Played Harbour Town for the first time in 10 years, hoping that my memories of the first time were still accurate. They were. This is truely one of the fine layouts of any course in the U.S. At close to $300 per round, this is not a course that fits most golfing budgets, but it is one to which you can measure your game. Management of your round is at a premium here. While the fairways are somewhat generous, it is critical to keep the ball on certain sides of the fairway, and to determine whether to lay up or go for pins on small, well-bunkered greens. Once on the greens, the ball rolls true and you always have a chance for a makeable putt whether it be 10 feet or 40 feet. There are a wide range of holes here, all with their own character. But straying off the fairways will leave you with difficult lies in fairway bunkers, waste areas, pine straw, mulch or water hazards. You pay a price for poor shots, as with most Dye courses. The course makes you use every club in the bag, and each hole can be played in different ways. A forecaddie is assigned to each foursome to assist you and to make sure you keep up the pace of play of 4 hrs 15 minutes. Figure in an extra $25 per bag for this. A walkable course, but be aware that if you ride you will have to keep the carts on the paths. The only drawback here is that the practice facilities are somewhat limited. This course is in my top 3, along with Pinehurst No.2 and Pebble Beach. I could play this course every day without complaint, it is that good.
