“Worth finding”
Reviewed April 1, 2014

This was hard to find and we went past the small sign at least four times before we saw it. It's off set from the road. But we were glad we were persistent!

Nice piece of history and the ghost story really captured our kids attention (we googled the site and found that story) there are great informational signs there that explain everything that you are seeing. I would visit it again.

“Interesting Lesson in History”
Reviewed March 3, 2014

We went in March 2013. During that time my then 8 year old was learning about slaves in school, so this was a great learning opportunity. A little hard to find but worth it. Interesting to learn that the slave quarters was smaller than my daughter's bedroom! Great signage at the ruins with the historical information!

“Interesting History Stop”
Reviewed February 14, 2014

We biked to the ruins and enjoyed reading about the history of the site and viewing what remained. The tabby construction was fairly intriguing, especially considering how long it has lasted. The trees in this area are beautiful and there were also an abundance of blue jays. It was an enjoyable part of our day. The locals seem to have no idea it exists, but it is on the bike route map of Sea Pines.

“Interesting bit of history”
Reviewed January 14, 2014

We had to drive around quite a bit before we finally found this place. It was an interesting spot and worth a look while in the area. It only takes a short time to visit here.

“Check it out if in Sea Pines”
Reviewed December 27, 2013

Since you do have to pay $5 per car to enter Sea Pines, it's worth it to check out all the sites in this area…this being one of them. Even with a map, we drove right by this place. It's not clearly marked, so you have to pay attention when you are on the street looking for it. It only took us not even 10 minutes to stop and look. It was interesting to see the ruins, and each little area had a small narrative describing what it was. I'd say if you are into seeing new things when you go to new places, then it's worth it to check it out!
