If you're already on Sea Pines and are looking for something else to do, then this place is worth a stop, but don't go out of your way to check it out. We found it interesting and sad to imagine the family of slaves living in such tight quarters.

It will cost you $5.00 a car to enter into SeaPines, but then you'll have all day to see everything. It's cheap entertainment... At any rate, to the ruins. It's very revealing to see that the family got to live in a huge plantation home, but the slaves were packed into huts that were only 336 square feet. It makes what we all learned about in school very real. Also, the 'tabby' walls are incredible! So many seashells went into making them. Very impressive. As for location, it's off of Plantation Drive. Ask the 'park ranger' guy at the gate and he'll give you a map.

Can tour the whole area in about 15 minutes (or less), a few interesting points but the place is pretty wrecked. Not worth the $5 guest pass to visit if this is the only thing you're going to see but if you are staying at Sea Pines or going to make a day of it and go to the beach and such then may as well check it out.

The area is very small and takes less than 20 minutes to look around. Definitely worth checking out if you're staying close or in Hilton Head. We noticed some people come to the ruins on bikes.

The kids may learn a few things.. like how they make tabby (like bricks) with oyster shells.

Beautiful park with ruins close to road. Nice trails heavily wooded which is nice in the Summer months.
