We visited here with our 2 boys (9 and 7 yrs). They were supposed to have a plankton study, but it turns out that the Naturalist was not feeling well, so it was cancelled without notification. The Discovery building itself is interesting, with some informative signs and pictures, but not a lot of artifacts. There was a room with a turtle and some things for kids. Had a small, but nice gift shop. The true value of the site is the surrounding grounds with a very pleasant, well marked trail including boardwalks over the marshes and Live Oak oasis with interpretive signs, a butterfly house, cemetery, barn and 2 Marsh horses. Had a number of botanical displays with carnivorous plants, native plants, historical plants, lots of flowers and beautiful trees. We really enjoyed our visits here.
