we recently stayed here as DVC members from sunday to tuesday in March 2014..i was expecting more disneyish feel to it so i was slightly disappointed ..from the plastic topiary in front to the construction going on everywhere and the trails not marked as closed..was a little disappointed..
the unit itself was great and we had a nice view..it was quiet. and relaxing

This is the third year in a row that as snowbirds we have visited his resort and again have not been disappointed. The units have been refurbished and are amazing with granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, new furniture and flat screen TV's. As usual the staff is wonderful, the grounds with the live oaks and hanging moss is picturesque and the beach is a beautiful walking/bike riding beach. The lodge is on the salt marsh and very neat with the tidal changes and wildlife. Sunsets are amazing on the dock on the salt marsh. If you love the ocean and the salt marsh...this is the place to be.

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a view of the salt marsh if you can...although the live oak trees are beautif...

The two bedroom unit was decorated beautifully and had an amazing view of the marsh area and Broad Creek. The unit was roomy, clean and had supplies for just about anything you would need in a kitchen. Loved the back porch with the picnic table and rockers. As always Disney has great cast members and really considers the details within their resorts. It is within walking distance to shopping and restaurants in Shelter Cove. Several of the restaurants there are really nice. We wish we could have stayed at the resort longer. Very laid back and relaxing.

Room Tip: Building 29 had great views and was within easy walking distance to the Mercantile store.

We had no idea what to expect at a Disney resort. Our unit was in the main building with a parking garage underneath and elevator. The view overlooking a pond and marsh area is very pleasant. There is also a large balcony with table and chairs and rocking chairs. All of the units in this building have been completely renovated with all new furniture, appliances, etc. Throughout the entire property every unit is being renovated with a time line of one building per week. They anticipate all will be finished by April. There are many activities available, many, of course, for children. Our favorites were the nature walks at various parts of the island. The guide is a very knowleable young man with a degree in marine biology. Every afternoon hot cider and cookies are available in the lobby of the main building. I was surprised there was no business office with a computer and printer available for guests. The property only has a snack bar available. There are two restaurants off property within five minutes walk. Be forewarned the prices are high. Hundrends of other options are available all over the island. For the budget minded McDonalds, Burger King, Wendys and Applebees are a short drive. If I were to return to Hilton Head Island in the future I would most likely stay here again.

Room Tip: Marsh view rooms are nice. Marina view rooms also face a road, but traffic is minimal. The main buil...

I was expecting a very outdated resort based on what others were saying on here, however we were in a newly renovated 2 bedroom villa and it was amazing! Very modern, but in a warm cabin kind of way. It looked like we were the first people to stay in there. All of the decor was beautiful and the atmosphere of the rooms was perfect and relaxing. Normally I don't want to spend a lot of time in the rooms themselves, but it was just so relaxing and comfortable. We cooked quite a few meals indoors instead of going out.

The resort itself was smaller than I imagined, but great nonetheless. The cast members were all what I would expect from Disney (above and beyond) and there is lots to do around the resort and hilton head itself.

I highly recommend renting bikes and biking around the island.

We biked to Disney's private beach house (10 minute bike ride) and were very pleasantly surprised. There is a private pool and the beach was essentially empty.

All in all, great vacation. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Room Tip: Get a Marsh view.

We like to visit Hilton Head in the off season when it's quiet and relaxing. There are plenty of activities at the resort and in the area to keep you active and entertained. The staff does a great job and there's always something to do.

Room Tip: Ask for second floor with a marsh view

We spent 5 nights here, and as always in Disney resorts, the staff was very cheerful and helpful. The buildings and grounds are gorgeous, and the location is excellent. The other reviewer a few before mine mentioned "dated." Yes, the rooms are very tired and dated. I can't remember the last time I saw burgundy and hunter green in a condo or hotel room. BUT! They were in the process of completely redoing all the rooms and villas. Swarms of workers--even on Saturday and Sunday. Hopefully we will get back one of these days and see the changes.

All in all, we would stay there again. Ask for a marsh view room.

Room Tip: Marsh view was great!
