We stopped at this campground on our way to Disney World and once we got there we didn't want to leave! We are very familiar with HHI and stay at Disney's HHI Resort about 2-3 times a year. This year we decided to do something a little different and bring our travel trailer to Fort Wilderness, so stopping over at this campground was a no brainer for us. Beautiful, clean, and landscaped sites. Each one fully paved so that you have a little patio and don't even have to bring the rug out. A nice little patch of grass, palmetto trees and plants at every site. Once we got settled in, we wished we could have stayed longer. We got there in the middle of the night and were able to find a site right away. The only issue was that they want you to call the office (no matter what time you get there) to let them know what site you took and I was so tired that I was afraid that I'd forget (I didn't). Once I called we all went right to sleep. We woke up the next morning to friendly people and a site that was nicer than we realized it was when we pulled in. The staff was very nice and helpful and having a salt water pool there was a huge plus for my husband. My only complaint is the bathrooms/showers. Although they were clean, they were a little outdated. The bath house I used only had 2 shower stalls and one of them was broken. It had yellow "caution" tape all over it and made us feel like it was CSI:HHI (lol) It would be great if they could build newer and more modern facilities with multiple stalls (I know, I'm asking for a lot)This would make this campground even more awesome. But all in all, I cannot complain. This is the nicest campground we've encountered. We liked it so much that we stayed for 2 more nights on our way back. And no, we didn't want to leave. The only other thing that I'd like to add is that it is about 6-10 miles away from everything (Shelter Cove, Coligny Plaza, HHI Ice Cream Company, Pirate Golf) but since we are familiar with the area it didn't bother us that much. Just be prepared to drive if you are looking to do anything on the island. But the campground is so nice that's it's worth the stay (and the drive to anywhere you need to get to).
