Stumbled upon this place here on tripadvisor and thought it sounded interesting. Went on a Saturday night around 6:30. Waited about 30 minutes, which was no problem since we went inside to the quaint little bar area and ordered a pitcher of the frozen zangrias! Loved the jelly jar glasses and fruit on a toothpick...cute Southern charm. Could have sipped those all night..got a text that our table was ready (cool concept, really) and walked back outside to claim it. Live music and wrought iron chairs and tables...fountains, ponds, etc and even a little putting area. Just like a neighbor's cute backyard that you never had..ha! Ordered the special, tortilla encrusted mahi with a mango and tomato chutney with a salad and mashed potatoes and split with my best friend. Was just enough for us after the crab dip we had with the sangria. Mahi was fantastic as were the potatoes. Salad and crab dip were fine, nothing spectacular. For dessert we had the peanut butter pie, very light and fluffy, not too heavy. Delicious! Can't wait to go back and take my husband. It's a leisurely, relaxing atmosphere.

We went here based on reviews as one of the best in HHI. Thankfully reviewers stated to get there early. We don't usually eat dinner that early but not waiting and enjoying their unique menu was worth it. We got there at opening for dinner at 4:30 and were quickly seated. There were already at least 5 or 6 families there right after us. The food is down home but with a twist and flavor. We were all stuffed and the prices are reasonable. We chose to sit inside which is very small but quaint and filled up immediately. Would definitely go back but we went the last day of vacation so will have to put on our "next time in HH list".

We ate dinner here during the week in the month of July. I have to say the wait was a little long, but so is every other place worth eating on the island. We had a party of seven and our wait was about 1.75 hours. They call you on your cell phone so you can wonder off while your waiting. The dinner was great. Three of us had the shrimp and grits. They were so of the best I've ever had. Two had meatloaf and they both really enjoyed it. The final two had fish of the day and they wer both pleased with their choice. I would come here again anytime I'm back on the island.

Where do I start. First let me say that the food was good. We had five adults in our group and everyone was pleased with their entrée choice (everything from salads to seafood to meatloaf). My first complaint centered around a simple request to substitute one side dish for an identically priced alternative. The waitress looked in the air with disgust and with hands on her hips and told us there no substitutions. We were all a bit taken back by the attitude. My second complaint was the blandness of some of the side dishes. The cooked cabbage was cooked to the point of mush and the whipped potatoes offered no discernible seasoning. While the entrée choices demonstrated creativity the chef/owner needs to upgrade the side dishes in order to complete the package. I'm not sure if I will give this place another chance given how many great restaurants there are on in Hilton Head.

If you want to dine here you need to plan on being at the restaurant when it opens at 4:30. Seating is limited and those arriving after 5 pm faced a wait of 90 minutes or more.
