Owner description: Bring your little pirate aboard the Black Dagger and set sail on the pirate cruise of their dreams! From Beginning to end the action is non-stop as we transform the kids into our Pirate Crew. The adventure starts at the dock where each little mate gets to put on some pirate gear and learns to talk like a pirate. Once they’ve sworn their allegiance to the boat they are officially part of the Crew and get to join us in the hunt for loot. We’ve got a map that leads to a sunken treasure chest, but Stinky Pete knows about it too and he stole the key. The race is on to find Stinky Pete, and get the key back before he can steal the treasure for himself. Once we find him our new Crew is going to have to man the water cannons, and blast the stink right off of Pete until he gives us the key!Fortunately, at Pirates of Hilton Head, we always beat Stinky Pete and every little pirate always gets a handful of the loot. We celebrate the victory with some music and dancing before heading back to port. All told it’s about an hour and a half of fun including the time on the dock. Please show up at least 20 minutes early to get your pirate name and a tattoo! We look forward to having you aboard. This is one adventure they’ll never forget!

“Perfect for 5 year old!”
Reviewed April 5, 2013

Wow! What a great morning out. We took our 3 and 5 year old, and they had an incredible time. Squirt, Captain Skinny and Stinky Pete were all amazing. I didn't expect to laugh or enjoy myself, but I really did! I have worked with kids for many years and it was clear this crew knew what they were doing. There was never a dull moment and they figured out an ingenious way to keep the kids hydrated to boot. The treasure at the end was a huge hit and my kids have been telling everyone about their pirate adventure since we got home. My only critique would be that the foam swords and bandanas should be included (as the unit price on these things is very low), instead of charging 5 dollars apiece. As a previous reviewer wrote - which parent wants their kid to be the only one without the get-up? C'mon Captain Skinny!

“Pirates of Hilton Head- 3/28/13”
Reviewed March 31, 2013

We echo the sentiments of the previous reviewer. Captins Skinny and Bones were very professional. taking us immediately aross the sound to find warmer waters. Squirt and Scully were absolutely terrific with our two boys, ages 3 and 5. Let not forget to mention Stinky Pete, who was a real trooper on the trip (was real wet the whole time). I would highly recommend this excursion. Our two sons were asking if they could go the next day minutes after getting off of the ship. By the way, the reviewer that said it costs to much? For our kids, it was well worth the money (not at all costly) to see the joy on their faces. Thanks again crew, and happy pirating!

Thank you so much for the review. We try very hard to not disappoint the kids when the weather doesn't cooperate. It's great to know that people appreciate the lengths we go to. Hope to have you aboard again.

“Finding warmer air”
Reviewed March 28, 2013

Took my 6 year old this very chilly morning (he's been begging for a year). The crew was great with the kids and tried their best to find the warmest air in the island waters. The kids loved it and the excitement on my son's face with every moment of the experience (especially opening up the treasure box of booty) made it worth freezing my own "booty" off. Agree that only one adult needs to accompany your pirate crew. Squirt and Scully are very attentive to the young bucaneers. Thank you to the entire crew for a great way to start our day today!

Jennifer,
Many thanks for the great review. It's usually not this cold at this time of year and the water temps are in the low 50's. We would love to have you aboard again another time. We went pretty far to get you out of the wind and that took up some valuable time. Let us know when your back in town and we can try to do something special for you.

“Great boat outing with kids”
Reviewed October 29, 2012

We're HHI regulars and have been on several boating excursions, including dolphin and beachcombing trips. For our kids (ages 6 and 2.5) this was BY FAR the best boat trip ever. The cost is actually a bit cheaper then the other types of trips and you'll likely still see dolphins. You can bring your own Pirate Gear or buy it at the dock, they do face painting and tattoos for free. Bringing your own snacks is a bonus. We went on the cruise on Oct. 25 and had the added fun of seeing the "orange tide" (the crew had put pumpkins in the Sound for the kids to help pluck out). My 6 year old is telling EVERYONE that her halloween pumpkin is from the ocean!

The crew is fantastic with kids and adults alike. They are fun and the kids respond to them well. Best for kids probably 3+ but they don't charge for 2 year olds and when he got cranky/overwhelmed I just took him to the back of the large boat for a snack break.

Well worth the cost. A fun and memorable day for us all!
