We took the tour with Captain Charlie and enjoyed it very much. Charlie was very knowledgeable and it was interesting to see an island that was not developed and much as it would have been long ago. My only suggestion would be to make sure and wear a heavy jacket and take blankets if possible on the boat ride. It is February so you expect it to be cold but the weather had called for 70 degrees. I had a polar fleece and a coat and it was still chilly. It was well worth it though. We also saw a dolphin up close to the boat and an eagle. Several herons and egrets. It was a fun day.

Charlie was the guide and Captain for a wonderful tour of Daufuskie Island. He was extremely knowledgeable about the eco-system, as well has the historical aspects of the Island. He was also well versed on the current conditions of Daufuskie, teaching us about all of the local artisans and happenings that occur on the island today.

Charlie was very respectful of our group members, considering some were a but older, he recommended better seating on the golf carts and the boast to accommodate them.

Charlie also brought along snacks and water for everyone, which was very nice considering that this is a four hour trip.

Daufuskie was a wonderful place to visit and really brought some the antebellum history to light. We were able to enjoy Churches, graveyards, old Gullah lifestyles and houses, old schools. We learned about artists from potters to sculptors to painters as well as a number of writers. We learned about the different types of industry that evolved on Daufuskie over the years as well as its relation to neighboring islands.

Wonderful trip and highly recommended for anyone interested in history and art!

My friend who has limited kayak experience and I rented kayaks for a few hours while on a business trip to Hilton Head Island. The staff set us up quickly, the prices were reasonable, and the loading dock was great, it is kind of a soft plasticky type material with a textured surface to limit slippage. You glide your kayak into a slot in the dock and the staff assists you with getting in and out. We saw an older couple who seriously I think one of whom should have been in a wheelchair, be assisted out of their kayaks without injury to either one. We were able to see oyster beds and marshes. If we had to do it again, would go closer to sunset.

We had a great trip with Holly as she guided us through a 1.5 hour introductory stand up paddle board session. We learned the basics of stand up paddle boarding and even got to try doing some yoga movies on our boards! Most importantly we stayed dry on a cooler december morning! Throughout the trip we got to take some great photos and learn about the nature surrounding us.
