Easy three or four mile roundtrip walk through well marked trails. Hundreds of Ibises and many other birds to see. August is very hot, bring water with you.

So many birds! What a wonderful place - well laid out, many paths, and well marked. Lots of signs identifying the birds, but if you are planning a trip and can bring a bird book to identify it might be helpful. In addition to the many birds we saw numerous small gators and crabs. We easily spent a couple of hours. Make sure you walk back to the Ibis pond and butterfly garden!

Interesting place...bring a bike if you can to see the whole island. In a little under an hour we say ibis, heron, egret, and of course american alligator. Well worth the trip, make sure you bring water, binoculars, and a birding book.

We came last year and always went over the bridge without ever stopping on Pinckney Island. So this year we decided to take advantage of this free leisure and went there twice to take walks. You can walk or bike along the pathways and you see lots of birds (Ibis pond's full of them, nesting, flying all over, etc). Most pathways are shaded but make sure to take plenty of water to drink along the way.
