“Worth the Wait”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 25, 2014

Have been going to this place for years. It gets busier every year. The food is great the outdoor seating is the best and the sunsets are gorgeous. The food is almost always great. This year they told us the wait was 2 hours and 45 minutes. The sat us in just over an hour. They have a new area for purchasing beers and playing games. It made the wait seem short.

“Fantastic Seafood”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 24, 2014 via mobile

First: There are no reservations taken, and the wait is LONG. 2-3 hours is normal during peak hours. Plan accordingly.

Second: The food is great, and very reasonably-priced. Shellfish and crab cakes are especially good. Come hungry, you will not be disappointed.

Third: The kids menu is basically all fried food. Order off the appetizer menu instead. Our 5 year old devoured the crab/shrimp quesadilla.

“Crazy busy, friendly service, nice waterfront setting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 24, 2014

We went to SCB on a Monday night, and there was a 2 hr. wait. SO, we went again tonight and were told the same thing. FIRST TIP: if you're willing to eat at the bar, it's first come, first served. A customer came up to us in line sharing that her party of 11 (yes, eleven) would be leaving the bar shortly. Therefore, we got seated within 10 minutes instead of 2 hours. I heard a staff member say that Saturday nights are actually their slow night because of so many people coming and going for their vacation. It sounds like Saturday nights are the time to go!

The food: hubby and I ordered 3 appetizers: Steamed shrimp, steamed clams and hushpuppies. We shared the 'Low Country Boil" ~ a large dish of corn on the cob, sausage, shrimp and red potatoes. Everything was excellent except the steamed clams. Five of the 12 clams weren't open. If they aren't open, you don't eat them! We should have asked them to take them back or remove the charge from our bill. My husband found the clams overly salty anyway, so he didn't want a new order. We just let it go.

After our dinner, we enjoyed walking out to the docks where the sun was beginning to set. There are tons of people just camped out in chairs with drinks to watch the sunset. SCB offers a large lego table, a large sandbox, and a table for coloring sunvisors - all for children's entertainment.

The parking is a nightmare. SCB offers courtesy valet parking. However, you won't know there's a 2-hr wait for a table until your car has been taken to be parked. Everyone else is playing Dodge'Ems in the parking lot trying to get a spot. People in their huge SUVs are parking in the "compact" spaces. People won't wait for others to get out before trying to take their spot. It's madness, and the pedestrians better look out!

There are many positives about this restaurant to help you overlook the negatives. It's the place you've got to go! My husband and I said we couldn't go home without eating at the SCB this week. Go enjoy the madness. The food's pretty darn good!

“Worth The Trip”

This was the kind of place we were looking for when we decided to come to SC. A place where we can drink a few adult beverages and have access to fresh seafood while overlooking the water.

“One If By Land,Two If By Sea”

Although, it was just my hubby & myself, I highly recommend this well managed restaurant to families. 4 seating choices include sushi bar, indoor seating w/ views, high top tables on the bar/ outdoor patio, & regular dining tables & chairs on the patio. We arrived around noon before the big lunch crowd. The restaurant is accessed by boat or car! It is scenically situated on the Skull Creek! It is next to a historical boathouse. Very interesting watching the comings & goings of the boats in and out of the water! The menu is huge. We settled on a appetizer of 6 SWEET fried blue point oysters. OMG, we each had ceviche. I had the Latin flavor & hubby had the tropical. Generous servings of perfectly marinated fresh fish, shrimp...
The key lime pie for dessert was perfection. The crust was moist & sensational. Our waiter was friendly & skilled. The management of this restaurant receives high marks for well-trained staff, organized business practices, and providing vast choices of local food that were both fresh & tasty!
Our 35-40 minute drive from Savannah was easy. Don't forget to shops tithe General Store for souvenirs!
