Did the 1 hour dolphin watching tour and it was worth every penny. Captain was great and very knowledgeable. Both my 2 year old and 7 year old loved it . Will do the 3 hour tour next time which takes you to a sandbar where you get to swim for a while.

We (2 adults and 4 year old) did the 3 hour beachcomber trip with Captain Kathy. She was very friendly and took the time to learn each person's name. She did a good job pointing things out and telling stories on the way out to the vanishing island. We saw several dolphins, including one coming very close to the boat and another jumping out of the water. Very interesting hearing stories about the mansions we saw. The vanishing island was very cool. We got tons of shells and sand dollars. Saw lots of interesting sea creatures and got a full hour to explore. On the way back, Capt Kathy let our child and another "drive" the boat. The boat itself was very nice and comfortable. Great experience.

After reading the reviews and watching the videos we decided to give Island Explorer a try. We've been vacationing at HHI for the past 20 years our experience with Island Explorer ranks as one of our best memories. Capt. Joe was an excellent guide...friendly and courtious. We saw many dolphins on the way to vanishing island and wow what a great experience to walk on vanishing island and finding sand dollars and many shells. A beautiful sunset on the ride back to the dock. This trip was on a smaller boat so from a value standpoint it was like have a private charter for dolphin tour, nature cruise, and sunset cruise all-in-one. A very GREAT experience. Thanks!! we will be back again!!

My family had such a great time with Captain Dave looking for dolphins. We saw several, and one of them came right up to our small boat. One of the things we love about this excursion is that we get to go out on a small boat - just our family and the captain. We saw osprey, a blue heron, Turin, pelicans, mink, egrets, etc in addition to the dolphins. Captain Dave is very knowledgeable, and we learned a lot about the area. This is a really fun family activity! This was our second time taking the trip with Island Explorer, and we can't imagine using any other group to see the wildlife in Hilton Head Island! Thanks so much!!!

It was a perfect day for boating and Captain Jim provided the perfect combination of adventure, sight seeing, information and dolphin watching. Before we set out on the two hour trip at high tide, he took the time to learn the names of the four adults and five kids in our family group and to tailor the trip to our interests. He was very knowledgable about the ecosystems and history of the HHI area and answered every question. He was especially patient when answering questions from the younger kids. To top off the trip for the kids, he allowed several of the to drive on the return trip. It was a highlight of our visit to HHI and will become a treasured family memory.
