“Great Natural Area”

Have visited HHI many times.Love the lakes, the shell ring area, and numerous nature hikes. We drive, park and hike our favorite areas. Animal life and plant life viewing is easily accessible.

“Beautiful”
Reviewed March 12, 2013

Take the time to visit this hidden gem. Not a lot of wildlife, but it's a great walk in the woods. Very easy to walk. You can spend as little or as much time here as you want. It's convenient and free.

“Serenity and Beauty.”
Reviewed March 7, 2013

Get off of the beaten path and take a walk on the boardwalks or in the woods. Beautiful fresh water lakes and an incredible display of wildflowers and nature!!! Take binoculars and lots of time.

“Sea Pines Preserve”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

A very welcome "commons" that allows views of ponds (lakes) and even dining tables. Very cleanly kept. Did not see many wildlife, but did see a large (7 ft) alligator within 6 feet from us. Also has outlook tower, and nice walkway.

“A Walk in the Woods”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

I know you come to Hilton Head Island for the beaches (or the golf courses), but take the time to visit the Sea Pines Forest Preserve. There are walking trails and boardwalks that wander through the pine forest, over rice fields, past an Indian shell ring, and along beautiful lakes. Bring your fishing pole and pick up a license at the CSA office. The best time to visit is in the spring when the wildflower field is in full bloom or in the late fall when they host a spectacular sunset dinner on the lake.
